Based in Llantrisant with a workforce of 850 - it produces not only all the coins used in the United Kingdom but those of fifty other countries besides. In this first episode, we discover who chooses the designs that grace the coins in our pockets and hear that the furnace, an iconic part of the Royal Mint, could be under threat of closure.
