How did they get this show so wrong. Season 2 could have been amazing… but one episode in… Terrible acting, horrible storyline…. So much potential wasted.
Absolutely horrid acting, mostly from Huck's mom, Huck herself, and Iris. I think the worst had to be Huck's mom, and can she not speak louder? This show started season one bad, got better during season one, now the start of season two, the season premiere, sucked all over again. The only good thing is that this is only the second season but this is also the last season.
The season 2 opener has some big moments. What we could have already suspected as viewers is now being suspected by some of the characters, that CRM is responsible for the murders of everyone in Omaha and Campus Colony. The two other big things that happened were that Will escaped from an assassination attempt on himself and his co-worker after they asked too many questions about the situation in Omaha, along with Will's reunion with Felix; and Hope was reunited with her father after what seemed like an unnecessary detour through zombie land just to convince herself that she couldn't make it out there alone. Duh.
As usual with a show that doesn't seem to be well thought out from a logical standpoint, the episode had some head-scratching moments. Is it believable that Iris is able to overcome a trained CRM solder, even if the soldier was hit with her arrow? And why did Iris go traipsing out into the woods at night by herself in the first place? She suddenly knows how to use a crossbow now? Also, why are CRM troops patrolling around The Perimeter? I thought the area had a truce agreement with CRM. Also, aren't there other bright and talented people like Hope in Omaha and at the campus? If the CRM really did want to gather the best minds for their work, why kill everyone, including other potential "Hopes." This makes no sense.
That aside, this was a decent, but far from great, episode that moved some storylines along, although we didn't hear a word from Silas or Felix this episode.
Sometimes (like in this episode) it even seems like the writers don't know what their own plans are (Other than riding on a successful franchises back).
Why for example were coded orders necessary if the trip was Huck's plan all along? You usually know your own plans, which means status reports might have been necessary but other than a "received" answering them shouldn't have been.
Dealing with covert operatives you usually don't want to communicate more than necessary - especially when you want to be perceived as an ally by the people in the territory you're in.
I feel bad for Annet Mahendru and Alexa Mansour. I think they both are dragged down by the bad writing (Its a feeling with Alexa, I know Annet can do better since I've seen her in "The Americans" and "Tyrant" which were different roles which she both played convincingly)
I am somehow wondering if they are trying to continue the TWD story here since the room with all the beds seems unnecessary but reminds me of the area they kept the newcomers in the season-opener of TWD with both organisation acting simmilarly (just different arms at different stages of development) . So is this the same organisation?
Eugenics and Fashism while two totally different things often get mixed in media because of their connection to the Third Reich.
Watching the Person (whomever he was) talking about the Episode afterwards I have this to say:
It is never good when someone responsible says "There is a reason". It usually means that there are plot holes everywhere.
I'd like to be wrong, but I probably won't be. I mean, it already says last season - For the third show in a franchise it seems odd for them not to press more money out of it unless the ones already knowing whats going to happen know that the show is headed for the shitter...
Bad,Bad,Bad. Crap story ,pathetic acting.
WHAT was that all about? This episode totally lost me and felt completely nonsensical. This is gonna be a rough ten episodes that I feel unfortunately obligated to watch.
It was a good start, but I expected more.
This was kinda meh as far as a premier goes, but there's a lot of set up for a hopefully great season so I'll try to stay optimistic on this one.
Crazy how a kid took down a armored soldier lol
Same bad like slasher s4 wtf!! they ruin all shows asap

Not that great of a season opener, but next week seems to have some nice surprises for us!
