Just finished the last episode and I am disappointed to a certain extend. The series started very promisingly, but the pace slowed down and was not satisfied with the end of the story. What I like about the show is that we were having two timelines happening at the same time. The actors played their roles very well, but I couldn't connect with the characters. The whole production of the series was really well done. It's a good show if you are interested in this genre and if you like adaptations of Harlan Coben's work.
There are some parts of the plot that I didn't like or they were very predictable. Almost immediately after they found the body in the water, I was sure that this was Pawel's mother and that it was his father that killed her. He was an alcoholic who was abusing his wife and didn't want to lose his other child. Fit the killer's profile perfectly.
I was surprised by the killers of the two teenagers, but it's didn't make sense for me why the two mothers decided to hide their children and completely ruin the lives of several people, rather than showing the truth.
It's suspenseful, there's a turn at the end and a not-so-obvious killer. Good polish production on adapted script... Coben knew how it has to be done. :)
hum i skipped this at the time for not being Netflix US. bad idea, glad i tried it. guess its time to check out other Netflix shows non US.

I've seen several of Harlan Coben's adaptations and The Innocent was very well done and my favourite. This one however was just average for me. As usual the plot is excellent and the twist unpredictable but the show's pacing was too slow for my liking. The ending was also too ?purposefully ambiguous that it didn't give me the satisfaction I needed when finishing a thriller/mystery show. Sometimes an ambiguous ending works but for me this time it didn't.
The dubbed version (I switched between both) was also quite stilted and I think Netflix can do better on this.
