Well, on the positive side, I like Agent Reyes so if she's going to be a regular during Season 9, I'm good with that. I've never seen a single episode of Season 9 before so I thought that this would be interesting going in. That optimism quickly changed to dread while watching this entry.
Wow. This is boring. Scully and Skinner are suddenly wimps and Doggett is entirely out of character. The super soldier theme is really, really dull. Doggett's investigation of Kersh is dumb. The new faces of evil are Kersh and new AD Brad Follmer, who appear to be nothing more than conniving office workers. Knowle Rohrer is also back to look big and intimidating.

No more Mulder!? Weird.
They should’ve killed off Mulder and Scully - or wrapped up their arcs in a satisfying manner, rather than an inept awful spurts that sullied both characters and made them unlikeable (or, in the case of the clearly disinterested actor playing Mulder, more unlikeable). They get in the way and drag down the episodes. Also, just stop the mythos. It’s been disrespected and retconned to death already - and wasn’t good to begin with. What a shame.
It’s now canon. The immortal, evil and something else Scully has a super baby. Oi vey. No. This is so bad.
Well that doesn't promise well for the season.
