Vilhelm Thygesen has been fired by the police. His journalist friend Vera is working on a case about two missing Russians. The case develops dramatically for both of them.
Thygesen is arrested by his old enemy, first officer Nordgard, for the murder of Vera Christophersen. The evidence against him is thin, and he is set free. Thygesen takes up the hunt for the killer and at the same time continues to search for the missing Russians.
