Now that's a damned tv show!
That was pretty brutal. Little girl's power comes out to stop a argument but when it was really needed, it was nowhere to be found.
I wonder if that girl will survive or just leave a that piss off Aquaman from Smallville with us.
- Thanks, Khaleesi!
Ah! I thought the same thing as soon as Dawn appeared on screen. Well, I guess we all did.
Seriously, even the cinematography and soundtrack are spot-on! This show is going places, I tell ya!
So far, the only thing that disappoints me is the CGI blood, it's so bad, it's actually worse than the one in Into the Badlands, something I didn't think it was possible. I guess the budget went all into the costumes.
I'm glad this second episode managed to keep the quality and excitement of the premiere, I can barely wait for the next one!
Back when Friday Night Lights was coming out, Minka Kelly's performance was a common target of disdain and condescension. I haven't watched the show since then, but I remember feeling like that criticism was overblown at the time. Either way, on the basis of this episode, if she wasn't a good actor back then, she certainly is now. There's an ease and confidence to her Dove that's one of the most instantly impressive takes I've seen on the demeanour of the kind of frighteningly competent kind of person who would be a career vigilante (non-sociopath division). Not only that, but there's a smattering of grace notes to her performance that, in this kind of show, you typically only see from seasoned pros. Which, to be fair, almost twenty years into her career, that's exactly what she is.
This episode was a huge step up from the series premiere. I knew this show was going to be dark but to kill off Dawn this early in this show was quite shocking. There's no way she's actually dead. This show is based on comics so if she is I'm sure they'll find a way to bring her back to life.
So many superheros shows and movies I've seen in my whole life and I just realised how many superheroes are birds
Dawn's costume was weird.
Dick and Rachel's conversations were lame.
And why the hell Dick was giving CPR to Dawn instead of calling an ambulance or something, I thought Bruce trained him better than that.
Overall the only thing good here is there CGI,it is better than The CWtv.
I really did enjoy this episode. I already want to watch the next episode! Good job DC!
What's with the useless heroes nowadays? why we are wasting time with watching these? Even worst than the legends of tomorrow.
You know something bad is going to happen when they show you a close-up of a gun being placed on a table.
Okay. The bad guys are still karate chopping holding guns. How does this get filmed? I think this is too cheesy for me. Wanted to give this show a shot as it has a lot of characters I'm interested in but I think it'll ruin them more than anything else
Nice, I'm loving it so far! But they better not be killing off the two hot females already! Damn! lol
Definitely hooked after this episode, fantastic stuff
This episode was a bit too slow for my taste. And it was a bummer that Starfire didn’t appear at all.
Because I'm the kind of person who pauses to read any newspaper article where you're only supposed to see the headline, I got to witness the absolutely amazing homophonic typo "greeted by a grizzly sight."
Anyway, is it just me or is the sound design a bit off sometimes? It feels like on the one hand everything is shot in this "realistic" blueish cold light with blood spilling everywhere and dark and "gritty" characters and plot lines, like the Netflix Marvel series, but unlike in Daredevil etc. all the fighting sounds are still comically exaggerated (bang! pow! wham! woosh!) - not to mention the extremely melodramatic dialogue which even the best delivery (which these actors don't always have, unfortunately) couldn't save. I mean - "Sometimes. When I feel the darkness come out... it feels good?"
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for melodrama, but I'm somewhat surprised by people actually liking this show when I would have expected a lot more criticism from certain groups. I mean, how obvious could it have been that Dove would get fridged? There's no room for genuinely nice people in this world, only uncontrolled masculine violence, PTSD analogies, stone-cold bitches and, uh, a guy that can turn into animals, apparently.
The first episode was quite good. This one...not so much. They just had to drag in a bunch of past relationship whining, angst and bullshit. Quite disappointed.
I liked this episode, although I was still bothered with a few things. But this episode was a big improvement over the first one. What I liked the most in this episode were the characters Hank and Dawn. They were very well introduced and the actors are assets in the roles. I loved the tension that exists between them and Dick, which served well for a legal conflict. I also liked how they showed Dick the way he was before leaving Batman. although he did not like Dick's excessive violence. And speaking of violence, this episode continues to show gratifying violence, although the struggles are well choreographed. I really enjoyed it when Dawn, Hank and Dick fought together in the past. Raven is an uninteresting character and actress does not help in making her better with her weak acting. But this time, she did not have so much presence. I hope she gets better at the character. Overall, this episode was improvement after the first one. But I still struggle with excessive violence, Dick Grayson looking like Jason Todd and Raven being a flat character. But now I'm interested to see what happen next. I think it's a good thing. Let's what happens in the next episode.
this is getting interesting and fun!
Am I the only one disappointed Hawk's pants never got pulled down?
Seriously surprised on how good this episode was, hope they can keep the quality!
So, Hawk and Dove, huh??
One of my top three shows on TV today! Definitely an adults DC show, with my favorite quote from the shop being, “Fuck Batman”! This Robin has a great sense of humor.

Robin went full beast mode! He took scissors and jammed into the guy's balls. Then, he beats some guy to death with a clip from a gun. Seriously, that was one of the best fight scenes that I have ever seen from DC or Marvel.
I'm definitely diggin' the old school costumes. I'm loving the cinematography and the characters.
