The season ends on a high note with “Star on the Wall,” a fitting conclusion to arguably the finest season of “Jack Ryan.” Despite some issues with the writing, which has been a consistent problem throughout the show’s run, the production values have remained top-notch and helped elevate the material.

While the finale was certainly enjoyable, it’s clear that the show could benefit from stronger writing to fully realize its potential as a serious political thriller. Hopefully, future seasons will address this issue and deliver the high-quality storytelling that the show and its talented cast deserve.

03x08 - Star on the Wall: 7.8/10 (Impressive)

I enjoyed this inside look at an extremely intense standoff very much. I have a couple of questions though....

1- Do actors of such political drama go home - after wrapping up the shoot - feeling some sort of real pride of their accomplishments, promotions and medals they've pretended to win?

2- Why are coffee cups always empty on shows and movies ?

From the first time in Episode 1 when those really low Russian male choir parts started I took it as a throwback to Hunt for Red October. What a very fitting finale we get in this episode!
Overall a very enjoyable season easily as strong as the first one and Betty Gabriel made a much bigger impact than Nina Hoss, which surprised me a bit. Michael Kelly might have had the most fun. John Krasinski and Wendell Pierce continue being excellent together and even apart. Will watch Season 4 as soon as it comes out too!

Another good season. The regular cast has always been great and this season we get a couple of great additions. James Cosmo deserves a special shout out, he was absolutely outstanding.

”Old men give orders - young men die.”
That really hit the nail on the head. :/
James Cosmo… what a star! Luka won my heart and I was broken by that ending.

So, of course, they prevent war, they prevent the coup... everything's well in Washington, not so well for Luka.

Solid finale to a solid, but rather straightforward season without any real surprises.

The plot was good, but there were too many coincidences and coincidences, characters walking around as if they were at home when they shouldn't be.

Unfortunately the seeds of woke intersectional feminism crept into the final episode of what should have been a great season - did you see the crew on the bridge of the US warship at the end, and of course the incompetent male head of the CIA gets replaced with the almost as incompetent but redeemed woman. They just can't help themselves.

A satisfying ending! :)

"Ok, today."
"I need to borrow your car."
"Papers, please."
"Have a nice swim."
"I do. His name's Jack Ryan."
"The captain is relieved of his command."
"Sir, the fearless is broadcasting on 16."
"Did you just pitch her for business?"

I really liked the epic faceoff at the end. Not something new but it never fails to be super intense and then super relieving when they do the right thing.

And it's awesome that Elizabeth Wright got promoted to director of the CIA.

RIP Luka though?... :o

This episode was great! What a wonderful conclusion to what I believe was the best season yet. Great suspense and thrills. John Krazinski was made for this roll. Love the helicopter seen…”How bad to you need to get on that ship?” “Life or death.” “Have a good swim” :joy:
