Head teacher Claire Lillis decides to visit the home of 14-year-old amateur boxer Ray to find out more about his life outside school, while teaching assistant Jerome tries to help new pupil Matthew, who has issues with trust as well as an inability to fit in.
The concluding part of the documentary following boys with severe and complex behavioural problems who attend Ian Mikardo High School in Tower Hamlets, east London. James is 11 and has just joined Year 7 after being excluded from his previous school for violent behaviour. At first, he refuses to speak to staff, but it's not long before his intimidating attitude surfaces and he directs his anger towards classmate Perrie. After five years at Ian Mikardo, Calvin is forced to think about life beyond the school and emotions run high as he prepares for his 10-hour GCSE art exam.
