Doodles is missing. Desperate searches and frantic calling cannot make him appear. Max tells them about detectives, and complete with magnifying glasses and drawing pads they set about finding him. Through the discovery of some clues they piece together what must have happened to Doodles, a series of strange happenings involving (among other things) some pirate hairdressers. Keep your eyes open to solve the mystery!

Bella is being a bandleader, and all the other Tweenies fall in line. They form a marching band, with Jake playing the trumpet. However, when Jake goes to tell Judy, Milo accidentally breaks the trumpet. Jake is upset, but Milo thinks of a way to help him. With Max's help, they make a rather special instrument which Jake can play to Judy.

He then uses this knowledge to get his own back on the others. Friends again, they team up to play the best practical joke of all on Max.

They struggle at first, but by accident they discover that by mixing two colors together they can create a new color. Proudly they present Max with six pieces of paper, each painted a different color. Max is able to stick each piece of paper on the sides of a cardboard box to make a giant colored die, which they use for a color game.

Fizz does not want to sing, and she does not want to join in with the picnic Max is organising. She does not like any of the sandwiches on offer, even though there is cheese, ham, honey or jam. Milo tries to cheer her up by singing a song about all the things she does not like, but it is Judy who finally persuades Fizz to join the picnic – by finding something that she does like to eat.

Max takes Fizz, Milo and Jake for a walk to the park while Bella struggles with her task. She is just about to give up when she gets encouragement from a special friend. The others return and Bella is ready to reveal her big surprise.

Milo decides that he is going to be really cool and Fizz follows suit. Milo has learned from his brother about talking cool, looking cool and acting cool, so when Max suggests that they put on a show for Judy, Milo decides that he and Fizz are not going to help because it would be uncool. But he soon realizes that they are missing out on a lot of fun and comes up with a fantastic idea for the show.
