Alastair Stewart presents some astonishing eyewitness footage shot by members of the public on mobile devices over the past year, including extreme weather and dramatic rescues. The programme meets some of the people who just happened to be there to record these extraordinary events, with the images later going all around the world. These include footage of the battering the south west coastline received during the winter and the dramatic rescue of a construction worker trapped on the ledge of a blazing building, filmed by office workers just across the street. There is also an incredible encounter with nature as a man unexpectedly finds himself being groomed by a family of gorillas.
