Bored with nothing to do for their school holidays, Badrol invites his best friend Lim to go on a camping trip at his old Kampung where he grew up, with intentions to experience some long-forgotten true Malaysian life in his Grandfather’s durian orchard. However their simple holiday trip is cut short by the discovery of a clue that leads them closer to the legend of the mystery house deep in the forest of death. Together with their newly found friends, Rajoo the animal-whispering boy, Ros (who Badrol develops a crush on, and she also revealed that she loved Badrol too) the village beauty, and her two cute twin brothers, Upin and Ipin, they work together to unravel the secrets surrounding the small Kampung.

This episode shows how two 5 years old boys, Upin and Ipin, reacts when the word “fasting” is introduced to them. Like any other kids, they are curious to the reason and purpose of fasting. Their grandmother and sister are ever ready to explain to them in a subtle manner the meaning and reason for fasting. A comical scene of them having to wake up in the early hours of the morning for sahur will add up some spice to this episode.

It is always difficult for young boys to fast for the first time especially if they are active and mischievous. They tend to forget that they are fasting when they wake up in the morning or after playing in the hot sun. The element of other religions respecting each other beliefs which is the essence of Malaysian life is clearly portrayed in this episode. Their non-Muslim friends will remind them that they are fasting when they forget. The episode will also bring nostalgic memories to the older viewers on how we fast during their first time.

It is time for them to break fast after undergoing a lot of obstacles on their first day of fasting. It is common in Malaysia for Muslim families to prepare delicious food especially on the first day of fasting. The temptations of the boys and their excitement to the food prior to the breaking of fast will be interesting and fun to watch. Their hard works in fasting are rewarded when they enjoy the food to the limit. Both of them fell asleep soon after that with their stomach full, derailing their plan to go to the surau for tarawikh prayers.

Their chance of following their Grandmother and sister to the surau for tarawikh is only realized after a few days of fasting. Tarawikh prayers, which is only performed during the month of Ramadhan, is an occasion that children look upon to play with their friends at night rather than praying. It is no exception for Upin and Ipin, as they meet their friends. After the usual exchanges of their experience in fasting, they started playing a typical kids game in Malaysia. Their fun are stopped abruptly by their sister and ordered to join the prayer session.

In this episode, the grandmother is trying to convince Upin and Ipin that fasting is an obligation that will be rewarded by Allah with enlightenment after life. It is the trend now that parent rewards their children with money for fasting instead of making them understand that fasting is a religious obligation. The episode will also be spice up with comical scenes of the boys preparing for Raya in a true Malaysian style.

The episode starts with the boys, grandmother and sister visiting their parent’s grave in the morning of Raya. On their return from visiting the grave, their friends are around at their house to celebrate Raya together. We then see how they enjoy the food prepared by their grandmother with all their friends of various races and religions. While eating, they will be sharing their experience of fasting for the first time and Opah who will always be around providing advices and encouragements for them to fast in the coming years.

A year has passed, and Upin and Ipin are now in kindergarten at Tadika Mesra. They have made many new friends but are still up to their mischievous antics with their close friends. Fizi and Upin each bring their own pet spiders for play before class starts but their game is interrupted when Miss Jasmin arrives, before Fizi's spider escapes from under his table. During class, Miss Jasmin informs the kids about the upcoming month of Ramadhan which makes Upin, Ipin and their gang talk animatedly about their previous fasting experience.

Ever wondered when Ramadhan starts? So do Upin and Ipin... Excited about the upcoming Ramadhan, they ask their elder sister Kak Ros, who explains to them that the month starts when the new moon is sighted. Intrigued by this newfound information, the duo set out to look for the new moon together that very night, and of course things do not go according to plan...

Upin and Ipin are performing their fast well, but they wonder why their teacher Miss Jasmin is not fasting. Opah lets Kak Ros explain why women are excepted from fasting. In the evening as they are playing games with their friends, Upin and Ipin are asked by Opah to send food to Tok Dalang. She explains that it is a good deed to give food and alms during Ramadhan. What will Tok Dalang do in return?

Kak Ros membawa Upin & Ipin ke Pasar Ramadan untuk membeli makanan untuk berbuka puasa. Kak Ros memberikan duit kepada adik-beradik kembar itu untuk membeli satu barang sahaja, tetapi mereka terlebih beli ayam goreng sehingga cukup untuk memenuhi meja makan, sehingga setibanya waktu makan, mereka tidak terdaya untuk menghabiskan semua ayam yang dibeli mereka itu.

Upin and Ipin learn about the meaning and significance of Lailatul Qadr from Opah. They decide that they will stay on in the mosque after night prayers to recite the Qur'an and perform supplications instead of playing. On arrival at the mosque, Ehsan and Fizi invites the twins to play firecrackers after the prayers. However, Upin and Ipin stick to their plan and stay on in the mosque. Meanwhile, fireworks explode in the background...

Upin and Ipin's classmates are abuzz over Fizi's bandaged hand. Fizi relates what happened the night before. Miss Jasmin then enters the class and begins a discussion on the reasons and benefits of fasting. The class ends with everyone asking for forgiveness from one another.

With Eid getting closer, Upin and Ipin try to persuade their sister Ros to buy new clothes for them. When Kak Ros refuses to buy new clothes for them, they try to ask from Opah. Opah promises to buy them new clothes. One afternoon, they go out to see their friends. They were excited to see Ehsan's new clothes. Will Upin and Ipin get new clothes this Eid?

Kak Ros and Opah are busy making ketupat and Upin and Ipin offer to help them. They try to weave ketupat but fail. Instead of making traditionally-shaped ketupats, they make unique and weird shapes. Kak Ros scolds them for not being serious about helping her and Opah. Upin finally made a proper ketupat, but the size was too small. When Kak Ros asks him to redo it, they both give up. What will Kak Ros do?

While playing with friends, Upin, Ipin, Fizi, and Ehsan see Ehsan's father and other people pay zakat at the surau. Once they get home, they immediately tell Opah what they saw. Opah suddenly remembered that she has not paid the zakat yet. Upin and Ipin follow Opah to the surau to pay the zakat, but there was no one there anymore. Will they be able to pay the zakat before Eid?

Ramadhan is over, Upin and Ipin are elated that they fasted the whole month this year. Since Tarawih is over, Kak Ros allows them to go out and play with sparklers. While they're playing, they see Fizi and Ehsan with their fathers going to the surau for takbir. They could not follow them because Opah did not go. They continue to play together until Kak Ros calls them for help. They help Kak Ros by preparing the living room for the guests who are coming to perform the Eid takbir.

Eid Morning is the most meaningful day for Upin and Ipin. They both ask forgiveness from Opah and Kak Ros. Later their friends come to visit their house. Opah was impressed when she learns that Mail helps with his parent's business. But Mail will get more good deeds if he fasts the whole month. Mail agrees to fast next year, and apologizes to Opah for charging too much for the lemang he sold. Opah forgives him, and all of them prepare to leave for Tok Dalang's house to deliver rendang.

Upin, Ipin and gang wait for Mail to return from delivering lemang before all of them head to Tok Dalang's house. Mail arrives with his father's huge bicycle. When Upin and Ipin reach Tok Dalang's house, there seems to be no one at home. But when they mention that they are bringing rendang for him, Tok Dalang suddenly appears and invites them to come in. Upin and Ipin's friends all jump out from their hiding places and rush into Tok Dalang's house. Tok Dalang serves them ketupat lembu which is uniquely-shaped and bigger than the usual ketupat.

Hujan lebat menyebabkan Upin & Ipin kebosanan berdiam di rumah sahaja, tetapi mereka dididk oleh Opah bahawa hujan itu rahmat dari Tuhan. Senyap-senyap, Upin & Ipin merancang sesuatu yang memerlukan imaginasi, iaitu membayangkan diri mereka merupakan dua pahlawan yang hendak menyelamatkan Puteri Mei Mei dari genggaman Jarjit si lanun.

Setelah diingatkan oleh iklan TV, Upin & Ipin membuat persiapan untuk tahun persekolahan baru dengan memastikan sama ada pakaian dan peralatan mereka masih elok. Mereka meminta Kak Ros supaya seluar koyak dan kasut buruk mereka diganti, tetapi Kak Ros menjahit seluar itu dan menyuruh adik-adiknya memutihkan kasut.

Pada hari keesokannya, Upin, Ipin dan kawan-kawan dikejutkan dengan bilik darjah yang baru diubah suai serba baru, dilengkapi tiga buah meja bulat besar yang boleh muat empat orang. Ini menyebabkan ramai murid yang merebut-rebut tempat duduk, sehingga Cikgu Jasmin terpaksa menentukan kedudukan mereka secara muktamad sebelum dia boleh menyampaikan taklimat tahun persekolahan baru dan mengedarkan buku-buku baru.

Hari pertama persekolahan kelas Cikgu Jasmin diserikan dengan permainan "teka siapa saya", yang mana para pelajar bermain secara berkumpulan dan cuba meneka apa yang diajuk oleh ahli kumpulan lain. Akhirnya, pada malam selepas pulang dari hari pertama, ketika Upin dan Ipin tengah membuat kerja rumah, Kak Ros meminta supaya buku-buku baru mereka dibalut supaya tidak rosak.

Tok Dalang mengajar Upin, Ipin dan kawan-kawan membuat layang-layang. Mereka semua dapat membuat sehelai layang-layang untuk diri masing-masing, kecuali Mail yang mengambil kesempatan untuk mencari barang niaga baru dengan membuat puluhan layang-layang untuk dijual kepada orang ramai. Tok Dalang berpesan supaya mereka pergi ke kawasan lapang untuk bermain kerana kawasan perumahan di kampung ada gantungan dawai elektrik yang membawa padah jika layang-layang tersangkut.

Di tengah keseronokan bermain layang-layang, Fizi mengambil kesempatan untuk beradu layang-layang siapa lebih tinggi bersama Ehsan, sehingga Ehsan terleka dan kehabisan benang, hingga layang-layangnya pun melayang. Tiba-tiba, seekor burung yang terlanggar layang-layang Fizi lalu terjatuh dari langit. Maka mereka semua berhenti bermain lalu membawa burung itu cepat ke Tok Dalang untuk dirawat. Keesokan hari, Tok Dalang membuat layang-layang baru untuk Fizi dan Ehsan.

Pada hari kemudian, Upin dan Ipin ke rumah Tok Dalang untuk menjenguk wau barunya dan burung dari kelmarin. Dalam cubaan melihat burung itu dari dekat, Ipin terjatuh dari bangku lalu merosakkan wau itu. Untuk mengubati kesedihan Tok Dalang, Upin dan Ipin bertungkus-lumus untuk membuat wau baru, tapi kemudian mereka dibantu oleh Tok Dalang sendiri. Selepas itu, Tok Dalang membawa mereka ke Pertandingan Wau untuk menerbangkan wau bulan buatan mereka bertiga.

Upin dan Ipin mencuba batu kisar tradisional setelah memerhatikan cara Opah mengisar kacang dengan alat itu, tetapi leka hingga bermain serbuk kacang. Selepas ditegur dan disuruh mandi oleh Kak Ros, mereka berdua berlumba-lumba ke arah bilik air sehingga Ipin, dengan tiba-tibanya tersandung pada ambang pintu dan jatuh sampai terluka.

Dengan kecederaan di kaki kanannya, Ipin tidak dapat bersekolah atau bermain di luar. Kawan-kawannya tumpang simpati dan menziarahi Ipin dengan membawa makanan khas untuknya. Akan tetapi, dengan kecederaan itu, Ipin menganggap diri sebagai 'tuan' dan memperhambakan Upin untuk mengambilkan dia benda-benda yang dihendaknya, apatah lagi melarang Upin menyentuh makanan yang dibawa oleh kawan-kawannya itu. Hal ini menimbulkan ketegangan antara Upin dan Ipin buat seketika tetapi akhirnya reda juga.

Walaupun kaki Ipin belum sembuh, namun Upin tetap membawanya keluar untuk bermain. Kawan-kawan mereka berpakat untuk bermain sorok-sorok tetapi kelumpuhan Ipin nyata mencacatkan keseronokan bermain. Oleh itu, Ipin terpaksa berehat di pondok dengan rasa jemu sementara yang lain-lain bermain dengan gembira. Akan tetapi, Ipin menyambut kehadiran seorang pengguna kerusi roda yang lumpuh seumur hidup dan memberikan nasihat kepada Upin, Ipin dan kawan-kawannya tentang betapa bernilainya tubuh badan mereka dan kepentingan keselamatan.

Ketika tercari-cari kartun kegemaran mereka dalam intisari rancangan dalam akhbar, Upin dan Ipin ternampak huruf-huruf besar pada muka hadapan surat khabar yang memperihalkan kejadian tanah runtuh. Selepas itu, mereka bermain capteh dengan kawan-kawan apabila mereka terlihat kepulan asap yang berpunca dari rumah yang terbakar. Keesokan hari, barulah mereka tahu bahawa yang terbakar sampai ranap itu rumah Ijat!

Upin, Ipin dan kawan-kawan melawat Ijat di rumah bapa saudaranya untuk bertumpang simpati. Pada waktu sekolah yang tidak dihadiri oleh Ijat yang meratapi kehilangan tempat tinggal, datangnya seorang tetamu istimewa bernama To' Wan yang berucap kepada murid-murid betapa bernilainya wang walau syiling 10 sen pun kepada orang yang memerlukan.

Ihsan ilham daripada ucapan To' Wan itu, Upin dan Ipin bercadang untuk mengadakan kutipan amal untuk Ijat sekeluarga. Dalam usaha murni itu mereka tidak gentar berdepan dengan warga yang tidak prihatin mahupun cuaca yang tidak mengizinkan, tetapi itupun sampai mengabaikan kesihatan diri. Setelah mereka berdua jatuh sakit, kawan-kawan mereka dan Kak Ros juga menyambung usaha mereka. Pada hari Ijat kembali bersekolah, dia dikejutkan dengan hadiah dan dermaan ikhlas daripada semua rakan-rakan sekelasnya.

Aidilfitri bakal menjelang, Kak Ros meminta Upin dan Ipin untuk membeli ramuan untuk dibuat kuih-muih sempena Hari Raya. Akan tetapi, perhatian adik-beradik kembar itu dialih oleh keasyikan mereka untuk bermain (mujurlah duit untuk membeli barang lupa diserahkan), dan kereta baru Salleh.

Atas desakan Upin, Ipin dan kawan-kawan, Salleh membawa mereka ke berjalan-jalan dalam kereta Proton Exora barunya ke sebuah pekan di mana si kecil itu menyaksikan beraneka tempat dan benda yang tidak pernah dilihat oleh mereka di kampung. Akan tetapi, gelagat si kecil kadang-kadang membuat Salleh hilang tumpuan sehingga nyaris kemalangan.

Upin dan Ipin tidak lupa untuk membeli ramuan kuih-muih yang dipesan oleh Kak Ros. Di kedai runcit, Mail menolong mereka untuk mencari barang-barang yang perlu dibeli itu, termasuk mencapai rak yang terlalu tinggi. Setelah membelinya, mereka dan Kak Ros bersama-sama membuat kuih-muih itu.

Upin dan Ipin membawa kuih raya yang dibuat semalam untuk dijual kepada kawan-kawan di tadika. Pada petang nanti, mereka terkejut apabila melihat Opah berkemas untuk pergi berumrah di Mekah lalu berasa sedih kerana akan beraya tanpa Opah di samping mereka.

Dalam kerinduan mereka kepada Opah yang hanya pergi sementara, Upin dan Ipin diajak oleh Ehsan untuk berbuka puasa di surau. Pada waktu petang, Upin dan Ipin tidak sabar bergegas ke perkarangan surau untuk menolong menyiapkan hidangan dan hiasan sempena kenduri buka puasa.

Hari Raya sudah tiba, dan kemuraman Upin dan Ipin terubat oleh majlis hari raya di rumah Ehsan, diikuti oleh satu malam bermain bunga api di depan rumah mereka sendiri bersama kawan-kawan, yang diserikan dengan satu kejutan istimewa, iaitu kemunculan Opah di kaca TV secara langsung dari Mekah untuk menyampaikan salam Aidilfitri kepada cucu-cucunya di rumah.

Upin, Ipin dan kawan-kawan gemuruh apabila mendapat tahu bahawa kempen bersunat akan diadakan. Mereka pergi berjumpa dengan Mail untuk mendengar kisah dia bersunat, tetapi Mail mengambil kesempatan untuk menakut-nakutkan mereka.

Pada keesokan hari, Tok Dalang membawa Upin dan Ipin pergi ke surau untuk bersunat. Untuk melegakan rasa takut mereka, Tok Dalang menceritakan betapa seronoknya upacara bersunat pada zaman dahulu. Setibanya di surau, Upin dan Ipin sudah hilang ketakutan akan bersunat apabila berjumpa dengan kawan-kawan mereka.
