Asahina Kaoru (Nounen) is a high school girl who loves to read books of samurai warriors and warlords so much that she loses herself in her fantasies of the Sengoku Era. Her favorite time of the day, is during the bus ride home from school. In the almost two hour-long ride, she gets to read her book, while occasionally stealing glances at her crush, a boy from another school, who often rides the same bus as her. During one of these seemingly typical afternoons, as Kaoru sits in the bus, contemplating on how she could finally get to talk to this boy, an old man comes and stands before her.
