So dull and worse still sloooow. Painful first hour of arty irrelevant drivel followed by a better second hour that you hope will ignite some kind of gripping finale. Instead you just spend that hour thinking 'f**king die already!!'. Reminded me of how I felt watching The Deer Hunter but that's supposed to be some sort of classic so what do I know!
I like the show, and the movie did have some small funny moments, but mostly it's too much musical and feels like one single dragged out it a movie with padding around it.
Really enjoyed it until that damn ending. Why turn it into that when it was entirely solid throughout? Making it a supernatural thriller suddenly in one final scene was an absolutely atrocious decision. Turn the movie off as soon as the priest enters the church and I'd give it two extra stars. All that demonic black eye crap was unnecessary and ruined it.
It wasn’t as good as i thought it would be but it had it’s good moments and did love the nick and predro chemistry, did make me laugh but also had it’s cheesy negatives too.
If you are a fan of Nicholas Cage, this movie is a good performance by him, with an honest plot and good acting overall. If you, like me, do not care about the star protagonist, it quickly becomes a lackluster experience.
And they lived happily ever after... Predictable from start to finish. Just a cheesy love story wrapped up and pretending to be something it's not. Of course normality resumes. There was no way this film was ever going to not have a happy ending. Was hoping for a lot more and it just never ever came.
Terrible. A Hollywood's classic shallow nonsense.
This is such a cliche plotline, with very little to offer. It's too bad because this movie had potential. The acting was quite good, but I struggled to make it through to the end due to the poor sceenplay. Do not watch this.
two hours of my life i will never get back but blake lively is hot i guess
Oh fuck. I need two hours back. Olivia could play a cucumber, but the story has no point. The trailer shows us one thing and we get a whole different movie.
The weird family, the flashbacks, the story is there, but it was so poorly edited/written.
I wanted to love it but I agree with others that the writing and editing/pacing did not work for me. Stellar performances from a powerhouse cast weren't enough to make me give a shit about whatever the story was trying to say. I like slow burns, I like character pieces, I like messy people, but somehow all of these elements never gelled together for me in this film.
Would've been better if the boat got bombed at the end :joy:
Funny. But clearly biased and biased. Imagine comparing a pandemy with thousand of details with a giant meteor falling towards earth. Typical of the progressism of hollywood. But it´s funny if you ignore the political side.
