Four Rooms, four crazy stories and a funny bellhop. Except for a film recommendation from a friend, I had never heard of this masterpiece. Thanks again!
And what the hell? Madonna is there too?
You must have seen this crazy good movie!
Bob Odenkirk acts like John Wick in Nobody. Great movie, well-acted, hot action scenes, comprehensible reasons for the actions of the protagonists. Nice movie from start to finish.
I like Bob Odenkirk more and more. Cool guy, very suitable cast for the role.
What always annoys me about zombie movies or zombie series also happens here. The ignorance that there are really zombies, or at least something terrible is going on, drags on forever. In this movie, however, this is not bad at all, as it is implemented extremely humorously and fits fully into the plot. Ignorance suddenly turns into more than acceptance and everything seems to be completely normal. In any case, the protagonists find a way to deal with it.
Bill Murray is acting wonderfully again. You can't expect a standard zombie action movie with a lot of shooting.
It's something completely different and that's a good thing.
Very relaxed, funny and well-acted movie.
One of my favorite movies.
Definitely a hidden gem.
Like Plato's Parable of the Cave in a future world.
It's still a masterpiece.
Hardcore Henry
Less hardcore, more Henry.
As a player of first-person shooters and as a media designer, I have a nimble eye anyway. That's why I was very fascinated by the design and how much action fits into a frame.
I've seen the movie 3 times now and I always discover something new. I can't look away at all either. If I recommend the movie to others, they find it too violent, too fast and too much. One movie night at my place everyone talked at some point and I always said: "Here! Now, look at that!" Then everyone got a headache again and kept telling each other.
Somehow it's also a bit of "Crank" only in first-person perspective.
Anyway, take time for the movie and be ready for it. And always remember, it's about the how and less about the why.
How casual Abraham Whistler just lights a cigarette next to gasoline...
One of the few movies I have on DVD. So when I moved to a new apartment, which has often been the case, I always had no Internet at first. Consequently, I always watched the movie on the first day after my move. Quite comfortably between unassembled cabinets and boxes, I always had a comfortable home feeling. :)
Kung Fury, a short film that never fails to make me laugh.
With ingenious dialogues, great animations and endless action, you can experience an odyssey through Miami in 1985. Or when else?
The look totally fits the film.
Before I saw the movie, I broke all the records in the game and I asked myself, 'What should a movie about this game look like?!'
But I have to say that compared to many other movies based on games, Kung Fury is more than close to its origin.
Did anyone ever tell you not ot hassle the Hoff 9000?
In every scene, in every moment, many things happen. You should really be prepared for the 30 minutes and get involved with the short film. It's the third time I've seen it and I still have to laugh again and again.
It's all about Toototabon.
Is it the true love of the poor little, interrogated monkey, or is Toototabon just his excuse to distract from a terrible murder?
Who knows that?
In any case, the monkey finds the right words and always looks like the poor victim of a false interrogation against him through his facial expressions. He remains cool and calm to distract the suspicion of the crime. Well, that goes well until Toototabon appears.
And what should I think of all this now?
My first thought was: 'Incredible how emotional and credible the interrogation situation seems and in such a short film length!'
Maybe David Lynch wanted to show how much different and more real it can seem if you sit down a real monkey and make him speak using old techniques instead of completely animating him, as today. Whether the film was shot with old cameras, or it is just a filter that lies on the film somehow supported my thought. Just as this completely normal interrogation situation is depicted, I really believe that the animal kingdom plays a major role in the film. Monkeys go to work, orangutans may not be the smartest, but also have their place in society and all are also subject to human rights. Even how the monkey spoke and what he said felt honest and not wrong.
However, the perspective from bottom to top to the big man, the interrogator, already made clear the inferiority of the little monkey. I really hoped that the poor little one would get out of the situation safely again.
... and all this in 17 minutes.
The best were the passages of texts by Nicolas Cage :)
Another Nicolas Cage movie in which he drags all his facial muscles into a facial expression of killing out of despair. But I can't complain either, because I like his trash rolls more and more. Even if this movie is not just trashy. Everything is somehow packed into a kind of art film, which lives from very beautiful pictures and is definitely an eye-catcher.
The movie was really fun.
For me as a gamer there was a lot to discover here.
I really liked the idea of the 3 easter eggs.
These created the entire plot of the film and it didn't feel far-fetched. They were secrets like I imagine them in good games.
The plot in the game world was well thought out. On the other hand, I found the plot in the real world to be a bit overdone.
I can imagine that people will eventually live as shown in the film due to their own mistakes, but I can't imagine that there are no more laws and order, whoever sets them. Throughout the movie I wondered if there weren't any police and how big corporations could just kill and blow up anything. But whatever, in the end it all added to the tension.
I'm already saving my money for a full body suit with a microfiber coating in the crotch.
Maybe Elon Musk was sent from space to us and he just wants to fly back home?
Unbelievable what he and his company are realizing!
Very nice conclusion for a very good series. It was great to dive into the world of Breaking Bad again. Especially to accompany Jesse Pinkman.
Wow, I think I've never seen such incredibly good animations as in Aquaman. The movie really surprised me. I still feel cautious about all the superhero movies, as I never liked them before. But I notice more and more that some are pretty good.
One of the best actings I have ever seen. Played by the main actor Rami Malek, who vibrates every part of his mustache, the history drama gets enormous authenticity based on Freddy Mercury's life. Very well implemented, extremely well acted and of course good music make the movie great.
However, it was quite a lot in quite a short time.
I saw the movie before when I was still very young and found it extremely funny from start to finish. Not so long ago I showed it to my girlfriend and we both had to laugh a lot.
Hardly any of my friends know this movie, which in my opinion is far too underrated. It was an insider tip of my father at the time.
Definitely value to be watched.
The Astronomer's Dream, the prequel to A Trip to the Moon shows a moon as scary as I have never seen before.
The idea of watching this film in 1898 is simply crazy. The viewers must have thought that Georges Méliès was a magician.
:zombie: Never seen hordes of zombies like this before!
The best scene is when he looks in the mirror...
I feel like that every morning.
Apart from that, the action scenes were action-packed and the quiet parts were not boring. Especially the German dubbing of Venom was awesome. That's how I would like to be able to speak.
I'm still very fresh in the Marvel universe and have nothing to complain about. Great movie.
Very hard-to-digest movie. After a short time, I realized that I sympathize with the murderer here. Try to understand him. In the end, I was just completely exhausted. Nevertheless, a well-made movie.
Although in my opinion the best tracks from Minilogue are not heard here, the 'short' animated film is an eye-catcher.
I can't even remember how many days the DVD ran in my background when friends were visiting me. But I remember exactly how happy I was when the DVD arrived years ago. It feels like it's a little gem in my DVD shelf.
The short film itself consists of the second CD of Minilogue's album 'Animals', which was animated from start to finish. According to today's criteria and possibilities, it is nothing special, but it is well thought out, fits exactly with the music and they have invested a lot of effort.
Now that I am writing the review, I immediately feel like playing the DVD again.
A must for every minimal techno lover.
The film takes place at a time when smoking cigarettes was apparently more important than paying attention to the traffic lights.
Carole, the main character, seems to be under the spell of something. Even in her childhood, she is not with herself, as you can see in the photo of her family. She constantly looks quite apathetically somewhere, as if she were not there, or as if she saw something that others do not see.
She may be obsessed with something that she has been able to suppress halfway successfully all these years, but then is unleashed by a trigger and can no longer be held back.
Actually a really nice movie. Only the end was a little too abrupt for me from today's point of view. The film builds up for a long time and it does that very well. Soft camera movements and a beautiful image composition make you very close to the main protagonist. It almost feels like you're experiencing the story together with Carole.
Except that the film is black and white, I would not have thought that it was from 1965.
Precisely because the film is black and white, lights and shadows appear much more clearly in their expression.
In my opinion, the film is even better in black and white than in color.
The German film title is: Disgust – Ekel.
So I wondered all the time where the film title finds its place here. Now I know it's not the disturbing moments that are disgusting, but rather the men in this film. They take themselves more important than anything else, simply touch women and invade their privacy.
The scene where he, who fell in love with Carole, visits her at home and then enters the door violently because he supposedly saw a shadow through the peephole, is the icing on the cake.
What's going on? Then he stands in the middle of the room and says: "Oh, sorry." No wonder Carole feels harassed. Or the landlord who browses through the whole apartment, looks at everything, condemns the tenants and then also harasses Carole.
I think I'll get some cognac.
How can David Lynch actually sleep relaxed when he writes such films? The entirety of the movie creates an uncomfortable atmosphere.
A film that could have originated from a child's nightmare after the first day of school.
David Lynch did it again...
This morning I saw the movie and thought to myself: 'Oh God, what will that be now?'
After the movie, I was confused at first and didn't think of anything special. But throughout the day I had to think of Rabbits.
The movie gave me something.
During the film, I noticed how I tried to pay attention to small details all the time and were looking for a specific goal or storyline. At first I missed a clearly told story, but then I realized that I had a very uncomfortable feeling even without much action.
Was it now due to the rabbits, who talked like in different time parallels, but were somehow able to keep their conversations?
Was it the special camera perspective and the setting that made everything look like miniatures?
Angelo Badalamenti's gloomy music and the rain, which sounded more like it was in my living room?
The movie made me shudder, although not much actually happened. Even the rather demonic scenes made me less uncomfortable than the overall impression of the film, especially in the quiet moments.
Rabbits shows how to tell a plotless story and leave the viewer any possibilities for interpretation.
Nevertheless, the film manages to leave an unpleasant feeling.
I now saw Jacques Tati's last version of the film, which was also wanted by the producers in this variant. In addition, it has been extensively restored and the sound has been improved.
I don't know the other versions, but I have to say that apart from a few small picture jumps, I didn't notice anything negatively. The picture and sound quality was really amazingly good.
I liked the humor in the movie, even if the plot dragged on a bit.
At this moment, however, I also have to ask myself: 'What was the plot actually?'
Well, Monsieur Hulot just went on vacation somewhere.
But I'll come straight to the next question: 'Who was Monsieur Hulot anyway?!'
Even if this is shown in the film by the visual language, I can't be one hundred percent sure.
Nevertheless, it's a worthwhile, funny movie in which there is almost no talk but has a great soundtrack.
The cutest is the little boy with the ice cream.
A felt eternity ago I once saw the Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire. They couldn't convince me.
But Spider-Man: Homecoming brings a breath of fresh air with the young characters and funny humor. For me as a MARVEL beginner, another bite that arouses my interest in the entire superhero cosmos.
DOOM: Annihilation gets a pretty bad rating here. I have to say that the second movie was much closer to the games of that time than the first movie. Overall, I expected a similar level to that of the first film. In this respect, my expectations were exceeded. I enjoyed it.
Is it possible that Nicolas Cage plays in more and more trashy movies? I don't really think that's bad. However, I expected a more serious movie. Once prepared for this not to be the case, I didn't think it was bad at all.
Nicolas Cage always manages to portray pure emotion with constant facial expressions, which shows a mixture of despair and killing rage.
In a squeaky colorful skirmish, it is up to him to save everything and everyone again.
