so so so so so impressed. I mean, its only a little bit better than moffie but how different can queer-war period dramas be?
Funny and relatable story of a man coming out to his family and friends. Doesn't stint on the drama but doesn't dwell on it either. Very enjoyable.
End of the Century is a papier-mâché soccer ball: interesting but eventually empty and without a point.
This gay romance introduces a minor plot twist in the second act and some magical realism late in the film but neither of these changes the fact that if this film weren't about two men, it probably wouldn't have been funded.
I think the film itself looks great. Vietnam is such a beautiful country. As far as the film, it feels a little flat. There's not much depth to the story; I wished they would've gone a little deeper.
