I loved it so much omggggg this whole movie is an aesthetic.
I had found Bigil a bit disappointing (especially after Sarkar) but this movie is perfection! It's pretty fresh (e.g. no long, hideous backstory...not that I'm opposed to a good backstory) and Vijay Sethupathi played an AMAZING villiain — it was truly a treat to watch. And I haven't seen anything by this director before but I'm so impressed! His style is pretty unique and individualistic compared to a lot of Kollywood, and I loved the little details like the retro blue car, Vijay's ringtone, and the fancy alcohol bottles. And that whole bow and arrow scene at the end? Absolutely fantastic - I ate it up. The interesting shots/composition and editing choices were a delight to behold and I adored the fun ways in which music was used throughout the film.
I'm so pleased!!
EDIT: Almost forgot to mention but that Ghilli reference and the final backstory joke killed me skfhjsilfhf I adore this film.
