After 4 episodes: The visuals are unexpectedly beautiful but it suffers quite a lot from typical teen drama bs. But the fantasy world seemes interesting enough for me to keep watching.
I tried it because of Ezra but nope, this is not for me
Eric Andre is a genius!
Tatiana Maslany is so underrated, what a brilliant actress.
The political brouhaha over this show really stops us from talking about it as what it is: a TV show, and TV shows are supposed to entertain, which Dear White People clearly forgot to do.
The message of the show is on point, but the whole thing acting-wise, writing-wise, directing-wise was clearly lacking, you can barely call it entertainment. It wasn't funny enough to be called a comedy, nor serious enough to be taken seriously as a drama, and if you peel all that sociopolitial layer off it you'll be watching a very typical teen drama, completely with love triangles and sexually confused characters. It is not inventive nor interesting, you have most likely seen or heard this shit a thousand times before in litterally any show that happens to take place in a high school or a university.
I don't watch TV to get woke, that's what the news is for. I want to be entertained.
laugh tracks in 2017.
sigh
I watched 13 episodes and I have got to say... this is a real mindf'ing, f'ed up DARK show! Nothing like what I expected, it's like diary of a call girl, fatal attraction and suits had a threesome and made a reality show about it. I feel like a voyeur and I feel like I should be ashamed of myself. The first few episodes where kinda boring, but after that, I couldn't stop watching. Binged the whole thing. I still can't figure out whether Christine is a genius psychopath nympho? Or just a stupid narcissistic nympho? I wonder what she is going to do next? I am a fan! Did you know by the way, that this gorgeous and great actress is the granddaughter of Elvis? :-)
So fucking painful to watch.
Almost done with it as I'm writing this, and I want to finish it, but shit, it's really hard.
And good. Very good.
Cancelled after only 5 episodes, shame as it wasn't that bad. Definitely had somewhere to go but it appears it was down a one way street according to ABC. Maybe they can go back to the 19th Century and start all over again?
Katherine McNamara is the perfect example of an "eycandy" for the masses.
she looks good but can´t act. Oh well, she can act.. she´s just bad at it.
Tom Hardy is, AS always excellent In a role - menacing, and downright scary. Like the show so far..
