That's a very solid first episode. It's actually kind of promising after last mediocre season.
The tear!!!! That moment was so out of la rosa de guadalupe!! A lot of telenovela vibes this season!
I’m glad Clark finally told Lana his secret and that she was so accepting, but I also feel like if he had told her before this season (especially the wedding, the baby, and all of lana’s tragedies) she wouldn’t have been so understanding and she would’ve accidentally told Lex. And I’m not worried about her death cause in these shows the romantic interest is not dead unless the lead character is there to witness it and say NOOOO. I guess this was Lana’s revenge, faking her death so Lex can ROT. I just wanna publicly say that Lex is disgusting pathetic embarrassing and a poor excuse of a man and he’s gonna rot forever in hell all alone! And I’m gonna dance on his grave and then shit on it! Daring to hit Lana??? And then he has the nerve to deny the fake pregnancy thing????
I don’t care about Wes but when Lois started crying my heart broke!!!!! Lex you are gonna pay for every tear you made Lois shed!!!
I don’t understand Lana’s endgame, I guess she’s playing spy but it physically hurts me that she’s staying with Lex, and that she has to apologize and he just threatened her!!! I want him gone!!! But also it’s really funny how Lana rejects him, like he thought he got the girl over Clark and she won’t even let him be in the same room as her, that’s a good revenge too.
I just don’t understand why chloe didn’t tell lana what lex did to her and her mom??? She had evidence!!!!
And what?? Lana was never pregnant??? and fck that doctor for telling lana all that nasty things!
A moving true story that evokes the setting of the Great Depression well. It's not always as impactful as it might have been as it rushes through certain moments but it's still worth a watch.
Thankfully not as vapid as I expected. The movie is further evidence of the dangers of social media and the false approvals people gain from using it. #deleteyourinsta
Episode more focused on the "dark side" than the other way around. Maybe if you expect always a happy ending in every story it will be a little bitter, but seeing it like it is, it's a great episode. Lionel is an excellent character he's really at a mentor level compared with Lex.
A super telenovela like wedding!!! This literally was a telenovela episode, with all the drama, the chatolic wedding and the awful dress!!
What can I say... Lana made the biggest mistake of her life, and the mistake wasn’t even marrying Lex but since she moved in with him, and Chloe can’t blame Clark for it, cause having a shitty boyfriend doesn’t translate in getting married to the first bald creepy man that crosses your path! And I’m glad she heard Chloe say she’s gonna be trapped in a loveless marriage with a monster!!
And how can Lex get married in a church AGAIN??? Is everyone gonna ignore that he killed his first wife???
And Aunt Nell has a lot of nerve finally showing up after 6 seasons!!!! For real if she hadn’t abandoned Lana none of this would’ve happened.
I was gonna say that I miss good Lionel or the Lionel that supports Clark, but then he slapped Lex and that was hilarious! But Jor-El needs to posses him again.
And on the bright side at least Lana knows the secret! 120 episodes and 6 seasons later.
If you cut Lana out of every tense scene between Lex and Clark it would seem as if Clex is the ultimate ship! The way they looked at each other outside the church, yeah there’s something between them.
Lana admitting she would accept Clark’s proposal reminded me of the episode when Jonathan dies and Lana indeed accepted Clark’s proposal but then Lex killed Lana and I have no doubt that outcome would still happen today. So I understand that now it isn’t a matter of Clark trusting Lana but realizing he would put her in real jeopardy by telling her and the main threat would be Lex. But also I feel like Lana is playing dumb, cause like if I were her my guess would be that Clark is a meteor freak or that his biological family is shady and those are the only options.
And can we talk about how petty Lex was bringing her the newspaper with her breakfast???? Instead of just bringing her the bf and making merits to win her heart and then the way he dropped that child bomb to Clark!!!!! So petty and miserable!!
But the writers are overplaying this situation when obviously 14 years ago this network wouldn’t allow bastard babies or abortions, so obviously Lana is gonna marry him or lose the baby or I was expecting for Clark to be all like “Lana I will raise that baby as my own” Almost like a telenovela! Cause we can beat that he is gonna scrapbook that newspaper article.
Chloe has been good these last two seasons and she’s more mature and respectful so I actually got mad when Lana doubted and accused her of leaking the story.
And now to what really matters, Clark’s reaction when Lois said she’s in love with Oliver!! And then their kiss!!!! BYE BYE MISS LANA LANG!!! Clois is finally rising!!
This one was kinda boring, especially because we know we probably won’t see that girl ever again, and if we get one more episode with her she’ll probably die like every kid Clark takes care of.
And Lexana (is that the ship name?) were so ugly to Chloe!! And Lex was all bitter like “you’ve never been in a relationship” but Chloe’s had her flings! While Lex can’t maintain a relationship with women his age cause they are only using him! So he’s not the one to talk about relationships.
I’m so mad that was the first Lexna? (Is that the ship name?) kiss!! And that Lana found out this way about Lex’s feelings.
It was a great performance by the actor playing Lex and it was interesting seeing the real/evil Lex in full force cause I don’t know if the show is ever gonna give us that.
I’m gonna miss “good” Lionel cause you never knew what he was up too and if it was all an act, and this evil Lionel is too obvious.
I’ve never hated Lionel Luther as much as I did this episode, great acting from the both of them
Clark as Lionel was funny and you felt worried about him but Lionel as Clark was the creepiest most disgusting thing ever, but great acting on both ends!!
I hate that everybody knows that there’s something weird going on in Smallville possible meteorite related but somehow Clark can’t explain to Chloe and Lana what happened to him? Just say that Lionel used the meteorite rocks to switch bodies. And how many times has Clark been possessed or lost control of his body/powers?
Apparently you need to go into this movie not seeing any marketing since most of the negative reviews talk about how it was "mismarketed". I had no idea what it was about, had no expectations, and I thought it was pretty good. I guess if you went in with expectations of something it isn't, you'd be disappointed.
“There’s no booze on this menu.”
“There’s kombucha.”
“Fuck off.”
Somewhere between a 6 and a 7 for me. Prey is a very good direct to streaming movie, and even without the Predator franchise attached to it , it's still a successful film. Stripping the tired Predator franchise of all the things that bogged it down, Prey keeps things simple. Primal humans who have to hunt or risk being hunted, up against a technological killing machine who hunts for dominance and sport.
Amber Midthunder is extremely good in the lead role. She's not Arnie, nor is she supposed to be, but she's a great lead who comes off believable and likable. If Prey had have been released in the 80s, Amber's Naru would be up there with the iconic 80s female action stars.
I enjoyed Jurassic World 3 more in theaters than this. That is all.
Amazing!
What a beautiful contribution to this world.
I love those powerful women.
Great cast!
[Sheffield/Doc] An revealing documentary-conference on the need to return to historical events to avoid reinterpreting the History of Racism in America. The camera is at the service of Jeffrey Robinson, an excellent speaker who offers a masterclass on how to find the keys to understanding the roots of endemic racism and preventing its spread.
One of the best solo MCU movies in a while. I went into this not knowing the story at all. I was highly entertained and not lost at all. Definitely worth the $12 at the theater!
i own all the movies on vhs and now the trilogy on blu-ray and it is truly amazing. this is my favourite movie of all time since i was a kid, and you can hold me to it.
An excellent little gem filled with so many "classic horror movie" tropes. This movie pokes fun at itself and others (even Netflix). It was a refreshing little mindf@#$.
Easily one of the best movies ever made! Have watched over 6 times and still cant say no to watch it again!
THIS. IS. SO. GOOD. the kind of movie i can see a thousand times and it will never get bored
I was hesitant going into this. Don't get me wrong, I love the original Wrong Turn and I enjoyed most of the sequels but I have to admit that they got too far from the suspenseful horror of the first one and it just wasn't as enjoyable anymore. I was glad to see this one return to it's horror roots and away from the horror comedy route.
This one is full of little twists and turns and fun moments for horror fans. It manages to include several horror sub-genres in small ways where they worked and fit without being forced. The killers were sufficiently creepy, the kills were realistic and delightfully gruesome without feeling campy or hokey and the overall tone was suspenseful.
I will admit, a few moments almost took me out of it but I was pulled right back in each time. What pulled me out was minor and was almost immediately remedied. For example the ending where Jen leaves to go back didn't sit right with me but as the credits rolled and it showed her killing them and leaving them felt like a more fitting end for her .
Overall, I would possibly put this on par with the first Wrong Turn.
When Stormfront is speaking German, it's actually pretty good, but with strong accents. She's saying: "Do you remember that day, Frederick, Cloe put her arms out the car window. We found the perfect spot by the river in the shade of an apple tree. It was the first time Cloe ate fresh apples."
I'm really surprised how great it was! Recommended.
