It’s nice that this movie at least continues the Caesar story. I doubt the new Alien film will continue the story of David.
The movie is about Noe (Owen Teague) who is taught the true ways of Caeser by Raka (Peter Macon). So when Noe is taken and forced to worship Proximus Caeser (Kevin Durand). Who twists Caesar’s words. For his own gain.
Noe sees through Proximus and just wants to rescue his tribe from Proximus. With help of a human he barely trusts. However Noe tries to trust Nova (Freya) Allen since Caeser once trusted humans.
The film isn’t better than the three previous ones. It is much than the sequels to the original movie. As well as better than the Mark Wahlberg film. It can be slow but when there’s action it is well done and exciting.
you found my weakness!
it's small knives!
Wow! What an amazing experience. I'm glad I didn't watch these early now I can binge this weekend and also wait just 2 more years for part 4.
so relatable, i have mad anxiety and has been the major cause of me stressing over my studies and stuff so it's really nice to see my favourite fictional character going through the same thing as me
Both the best and worst godzilla movie. The best because of the sfx/vfx/cgi, horror/darkness, casting, and just every scene with monsters. The worst because around one and a half hours of this wasn't needed at all. It was filler for characters who don't last or have any meaning what so ever. I rather they take a few years building a proper Godzilla movie rather than this wasted 'Wanda, Quicksilver and Walter White with a bit of Godzilla' nonsense. They didn't even have to pay Godzilla for this because she was volunteering as a background character.
Ridiculous. (like all Goji movies become)
but a lot of fun.
kids were enthralled throughout.
If you like Kong, this has a lot of Kong being king.
slightly dragged at the start, but soon it was over and I don't know where the time went.
a lot of hilarious uses of battering things.
some stunning segments of utter beauty
lacks the original Goji theme . Wingard !
It was as good as the first movie. Movies like this make me guess what will happen. I've watched it so many times, maybe that's why. The movie felt like something was missing, but I couldn't understand what it was. The acting, plot and effects were good. It moves at a slow pace. At the end of the movie, there is a reference to a sequel. I hope it comes early
i really enjoyed this movie. stephen and robbie were amazing. the only thing that i didn't love was the ending, felt a bit rushed. was definitely hoping to get a little more explanation there but other than that, awesome movie!!
Although not a Acadamy award winner, this was an enjoyable movie.
Honestly, this movie was pretty good. The story and visuals were engaging and there was plenty of action to keep things going. My biggest complaint is really just the ending. There was so much left unexplained and didn't quite make sense. If I were the producer of this, I would've looked at the script and said: "This needs to be a series, not a movie." That way there would be more sufficient character development and truly satisfying ending.
This movie was awesome, original, and created from a shoestring budget short film. It blows away anything the top dogs in Hollywood have done in the past 5 years.
A very good generic movie, i woud even call it a "filler movie", cause theres nothing to absolute hate about it or to looooove either, its pretty stable and ok to watch if you are having a boring day.
But in the end, it as entertaining, and acomplished what they promised.
Great movie, so fun so entertaining, so out of logic moments , great naration , great black humor the whole thing with the second safehouse was awesome. I don't get how we do not have a sequel for that yet!
A must watch little unknown gem.
No. I’m sorry but the casting was not right for Fredrick he looks dumbfound everytime someone speaks. He has not much of any charisma. Stayed for Dakota. Story on its own lacks.
The most EPIC movie I have ever seen in my life, for real!!!!!
It’s like a videogame where you keep dying over and over again until you eventually complete each level and finish the story
they cooked with this one:fire:
1st time a live action adaption done something good i guess because Tite Kudo was involved himself for this production.
Hollow design as live action were solid so as fight scenes... plot also good cuz for a movie its enough..
i guess maybe part 2 will come too when Ichigo goes Soul Society for Rukia
They should replace the Byakuya actor, he was trying hard to be fierce. Everytime he showed up, he was pulling the movie down.
If they will retain him, then the director should tell him to relax and to own the character. He does not need to copy the Byakuya in the anime adaptation. Own the character, be a unique Byakuya.
As for the Orihime character, they should've signed-up a Korean actress, they know how to act cute. That was Orihime's charm, being cute. The actress for Orihime was too serious but in fairness she did well in looking "innocent".
I have not seen the anime, so don't know how it compares. But as a standalone movie it was ok, keep me entertained enough.
im going to watch this solely for andrew garfield
I like Yuta, even more so now that he got over his whimsical attitude. Eager to see him in the main series. Apart from that, the fights could use more sauce, and sometimes the movie was a bit boring.
If you like cringey movies about a cute christmas knight, boy, do I have the movie for you
This movie let me down. Natalie Portman's performance was absolutely fantastic, but I felt unusually disconnected from her character. The lack of personality was effective and realistic to a point, but as the story continued, I really just felt like I was watching a movie about a malfunctioning robot. Barbara Hershey was particularly amazing in her role and her scenes were my favorite. The final scene is also beautiful to watch. And just expertly crafted. I also liked how the music matches (and sometimes creates) the drama throughout the film, but overall, I am just not a fan. I'm glad that others have found something to love though!
July 16, 2023 Original Post:
Watched it today in theaters. I can't come up with words that will give this movie justice. The movie never shows anything graphic or too hard to watch. It lets your imagination fill in the gaps (which is more graphic imo) but you can take your 13+ kid and you wouldn't have to cover their eyes.
Edit: Changed the Rating from a 9 to a 10. I'm still thinking about this movies message a few hours after.
Edit July 17, 2023: This movie stayed with me, even while trying to sleep. It kept me up at night. The last time a movie did that to me was when I was 12 watching "IT" in a hospital alone and didn't know how to change the channel. The message is strong, but the movie is a must watch.
Movie itself was pretty good, well made, not fear mongering in my opinion. Story was good too.
The movie is pretty good, if slightly overrated. There are some pacing issues in the first half that make it feel 30 to 40 minutes longer than it is, but the only way it'll knock your socks off is emotionally, because of the heaviness of the subject matter. There are no Qanon conspiracy theories or any craziness like that in the film itself, just a fine (if somewhat embellished/compiled) story about rescuing children from sex trafficking. Both the acting and cinematography are impressive, which exceeded my expectations because both are better than in The Chosen, Angel Studios' other major project, which has even higher ratings and reviews.
This is certainly a heavy watch for obvious reasons, so this isn't gonna be the film you're gonna wanna rewatch too soon after seeing it the first time, but it'll probably stick with you more than anything else you see in theaters this year.
That was a lot better than I remembered. Actually a fun watch.
