With their budget it is beyond me why they didn't hire a great writer and storyteller, and a person who can create characters that viewers care about after 1 dialogue. Hollywood has several people like that.
Instead of taking Tolkien material, leave it as is and think how to improve on top of that, AMZN decided to just take the character names, world map and create some random BS script to show off CGI. Well... It's a trend. Wheel of Time did the same thing. Now I pray to all gods that if Hollywood finally will make a TV Show based on Raymond Feist novels - they will ask someone who knows what they're doing...

My feelings and thoughts after watching this movie can be summarized by one word.
Pointless.
This is an awful adaptation, they left only names and major action events, changing everything else for unknown reason: character personalities, adding characters, scenes, etc.
Unbelievable.

This reminds me of 'The White Lotus' where you watch the show waiting for anything interesting to happen, but nothing really does.
This is also not a Tarantino movie or a David Simon show, where dialogues are something to quote and think about for hours after watching.
You cannot put good cast together, and expect that it would be enough for a proper entertainment.
This is not 'This is Us' or 'Chasing Life' where scenes are so emotional you need to be a brick not to care.
If you are going to film a show that helps people with problems, you need something better than this one, if that was the idea.
Overall awful, and Nicole Kidman presence makes it much worse, since show creators definitely try to have as much moments as possible that just showcase how nice she looks like, and how superior she is to other actors.

To make this show so much better you just need better dialogues. Yes, its slow. Yes, sometimes doesn't make sense, and IT part is awful as usual. But the action is there, intrigue of what happened is there. Justfix the dialogues ffs, I am so compelled to read the book to check if they talk as stupid there as in the movie.
They should have invited Jack Black to play Judd.
This is the worst season of True Detective. First two were 10 out of 10 for me, but this one...
I can say only 1 thing: if you have trouble sleeping - this season (any episode) will resolve it immediately.
Just watch first episode and last one, you won't miss a thing.

Great movie, it takes your breath and don't give back until the final frame. Intense and intelligent, definitely worth watching.
What a disappointment!! Instead of the pure action from the first movie we are presented with a regular asian gangster movie, which we've seen hundreds. And in this aspect - this particular movie sucks!! Stupid not charismatic heroes, main hero doesnt have any plan to do his job, except kill everybody in the end... Ok, everyone gets that effects of the hits on the human body are greatly reduced, for the dynamics sake, but to reduce effects (totally! not even reduce - negate completely) from the knife wounds?!?! You gotta be kidding me... 5 out of 10.
Fair movie. It not great, not even good. It lacks the genuine feeling of the rich life with no limits. Too much of the drugs theme, and its just meaningless, since people in the movie just use drugs like each day for years without any consequences for their health. Also, movie abounds with explicit language, and seeming unreasonable at first glance - it actually helps to feel the difference between people who use it and all the outside world. It's a shame that they needed that to make heroes different. Despite being 3 hours long this is a very depthless movie, which lacks class. Yes, Di Caprio is just great. Without him it would be 3 out of 10. With him - only 6.
