i loved this episode, it's so great when these actors get to really shine.
i don't know if it's because i'm watching this over a decade after its time in light of all the gymnastics sexual abuse issues, but there is something deeply unsettling to me about the entire storyline with regards to sophie's coach. a lot of the things in this show are done right re: therapy and its complexities but this is not one of them and i sincerely hope it isn't a reflection of the time.
best thing about this episode is that it ends with an rem song but also, as much as i didn't like this ending, i also kind of feel like... stephen king's a prolific writer whose work has been made into countless pieces of media and if he wanted to make this ending, then good on him for living his best fuckin writing life. anyone complaining about this ending surely knows that he changed the entire timeline and the original ending of the book for the reprint, right?
what the actual fuck did i just watch.
