Terrifying, these people are using God for political purpose

@catlania And severe sexual, mental, and physical abuse.
I'm enjoying it so far (3 episodes in), but I want to rate it higher just because it's upsetting so many people that don't like shows about empowered women

@adashovelace That is, unfortunately, the norm, but especially so on Trakt. It's heavily male dominated with a certain 'nerdy' flavour. Certain stereotypically male TV shows will show support that seems unprobably high, and vice versa.
Something common here is that people watch one episode, decide they hate it, and rate the entire show down (rather than the episode) as a result. There will have been people who immediately jumped to giving this a 1/10 because they don't understand how a useful system works. I think that is mostly gender-neutral and happens on any show, just compare the rating of a new series with the ratings on the first few episodes. It's typical to see a 60/80 split, for example.
However, whenever there is is a woman featured as the prominent character on the poster, the series rating goes down. If they aren't conventionally attractive, the rating goes down. If the description features anything you could construe as strong-female-lead, the rating goes down. Most of all, if someone watches half the first episode and discover there's a joke directed at a man, an LGBT+ person exists, male actors predominately play side characters, etc, etc, etc then it suddenly because "woke shit" and that moron will rate it a 1/10, artificially deflating the rating due to incomprehensible bigotry.
This site has a lot of it. I have come across literal Nazis in the comments of pro-Nazi propaganda movies from the 30s, and the admins on the site don't do anything when it's reported, so having some way to counteract bigotry when it comes to a handful of shows that involve women or minorities is not something I see them attempting to address.
For me personally, I find it annoying that I can't get an idea of a show at first glance. The ratings don't mean much, good shows get buried, and the comments can be a cesspit. This show could genuinely be awful, but if embarrassing men are commenting about how triggered by wokeness they are, then how am I meant to tell?
I can't believe I spent a whole day watching 8 episodes of this junk.
So disappointing.loading replies
@tiger451966 It must have been amazing and great for you to spend 8 hours straight watching it!
I know i shouldn't compare it to Sherlock but gorram i can't fucking help it. It pales in comparison, and that's a bad thing because i can't concentrate on what's happening. Elementary seems like a retarded parasitical twin that should've been killed at birth but was nurtured by the deranged aunt. Everything about it is... average. There's no spark from Liu and Miller. It's just not there. You can't argue "Oh why can't we do an interpretation of Sherlock Holmes?" or something along those lines, when the fact is, the writing is what makes it. No one will ever match the quality of Sherlock without kidnapping Moffat et al and forcing them to write scripts in the dead of the night.
People who haven't seen Sherlock (most Americans surely) will probably like this show, but for those who have seen Sherlock and are eagerly anticipating the 3rd season, this show will bore you to dead. No, seriously. I'd rather watch Revolution (actually fuck no, i take that back).
Oh and before anyone makes a comment about the books, i've read them. Before watching Sherlock and before the 1st Sherlock Holmes movie with RDJ.
Watch Sherlock.

You'll have to revisit this show. It started off as a weak knock-off but it has grown to become quite brilliant. In 2012 I would have agreed with you. But in 2016 your review seems completely wrong.
