I thought that the movie was just alright until the last third where shit just went crazy. Just like Mima, I couldn't tell what was real or not. This was definitely a unique and awesome mindfuck. Satoshi Kon (Paprika, Millennium Actress, Paranoia Agent) is without a doubt a master of the psychological thriller genre. I just wish that he could have gotten the chance to create many more films.
The movie itself is not that bad, and I LOVE Julianne Moore, but her as Clarice Sterling (when you already watched Jodie Foster's outstanding performance) just doesn't work.
Great movie, I loved it. And the less you know about it before watching, the better.
the worst adaption I´ve ever seen.
Light, a stupid teenage student, uses the Death Note to impress Mia, a girl he likes.
They go rampage and kill criminals. L is getting emotional while it all turns into some comedy/love drama, because Light didn´t want to murder his own father.
If they changes ALL the names and maybe the title, the movie wouldn´t be that bad. But if you expect a Death Note movie, you´re only getting dissapointed.
I don´t even mind the "white whasing". I don´t mind, that L is black, Light is called Turner or Mia is just some random classmate of him. There personalities are all completely different and "Kira" is just a boring person.
Messed me up in the best ways. Unreal film, needs to be watched with zero spoilers to have full impact.
What ruins this film is the end, why it is OK for <bender to stay the way he is, but Allison MUST change her looks and behaviour in order to "fit in"? I am no teenager and since I was a child in the 80's that issue has always bothered me.
This is a horror movie.
Qué paja tener que buscar los títulos en inglés. ¡Esta película se llama Relatos Salvajes, carajo!
Nic Cage probably did this movie to pay off a LED TV or something, its THAT bad...
This was horrible. Not even coming close to being funny at any time during the "movie". Save yourself the torture of watching this one.
So long! So long! And thanks for all the fiiiiiiiish!
This is one of the best movies i have ever seen!
Great visuals. Boring script. 4/10.
Watch Spanish version: Abre Los Ojos
Terrible plot "twist" at the end ruined what was already a bad movie. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
It is my favourite Disney but there are mistakes such as the characters being cursed for 10 years therefore it means the Prince then was 11 years old. It does not compute as the torn portrait in his bedroom shows an adult and the 10 year curse is supposed to end at his 21st .birthday .
A classic tale of love in times of war, "The Last Of The Mohicans" is a very good film with great locations, decent acting and a great musical score to go along. Definately something everybody should watch at least once.
A very good film adaptation of an even better novel! Please read the novel by Irvine Welsh, it's better than the film!
Watching the multi award winning Beauty and the Beast after all these years was a real treat. It's as touching now as it was when it was first released 20 years ago, and the 3D special edition is simply gorgeous. The 10 months it took to remaster was worth every minute.
When it was released in 1991 I was working as a projectionist at a small cinema and watched it many times, the songs becoming ingrain, but I can't now imagine watching it, along with the 3D Special Edition of the Lion King, any other way.
The 3D, supervised by director and chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios John Lassiter (Toy Story, A Bugs Life, Toy Story 2, Cars), is masterful. The depth in many sequences feel as if you could just step into them.
Beauty and the Beast is a Disney classic that stands the test of time.
Interesting, but as a Nirvana/Kurt fan since the eary 90s, nothing really new, except for the family footage (him as a baby and him interacting with baby Frances Bean). I was expecting more.
I'm not by any means a fan of Stephenie Meyer's work, but I did enjoy her book "The Host".
I know that film adaptations often aren't as good as the original source (even great films like "A Clockwork Orange", "Trainspotting" or "The Lord of The Rings"), but this one in particular, as a person who liked the book, turned out as a very disappointing movie.
Quality of stories is very variable but the better ones are excellent
Deffo one for shakycam fans
The first 15 minutes is like seeing a japanese otome (aka visual novels where the main character is a clumsy rookie journalist, who by chance meet a millionarie and famous guy and bla, blah, blah).
Apart from the striking location, there was very little that elevated this above standard teen horror films. There was some good moments of tension throughout the film but on the whole it was largely predictable and forgettable.
This could have been a great movie, it has some wonderful cast, but I couldn't go through all the film, so much bloody pornography! And not erotic scenes, or nudes, REAL PORN! I should have informed myself better... what a waste...
Every now and then a film comes along that redefines how bad a movie can be. Essentially a take on The Rapture, the only issue worthy of debate is quite how Nicolas Cage decided to take on a role in this film. There are plot inconsistencies (so where did the gun come from ?), stereotyping (the token Muslim who may have something dangerous in his bag), atrocious acting from absolutely everyone in the film and deeply offensive Christian right-wing eulogising (so why exactly did the token Muslim character deserve to be left behind?). And yet, as the absurdities build, it takes on a life of its own as a comedy classic that will leave a viewer in fits and therefore worthy of at least half a star. There are countless moments that will leave you not quite sure whether to laugh at the film itself or the notion that someone thought this script was worth making as a serious film. And then they decided to kick the dwarf out of the plane...
I was hesitant to watch this movie and not in the mood to watch a heavy drama. To my surprise it was amazing. No forced drama and it was actually to my great surprise a lot of fun to watch. This movie was faster and more fun and more thrilling that Amazing Spider-Man 2!
This was available via Netflix Streaming and it was Halloween so I thought, "Why not?" I should have kept looking.
I mean, it's terrible and not in that so bad it'll make a good cult classic way terrible.
Did the people who made this film, writers, producers, art directors etc, fail each and every one of their science classes? The concepts in this film are ridiculous. While I don't expect folks to go to medical school, I do expect them to have a basic understanding of how the major systems of the body work. I expect them to know what is and what is not possible and to carry that over so that a doctor in a film would have a working knowledge when preparing for and performing surgery.
In other words, you can't sew people together end to end and "pretend" like stuff just "passes" through. It doesn't. How on earth do you think people get E. Coli and Staph infections? Especially with the open/healing surgical wounds?
And there is really only one scary part. What is it? Listening to the lecture before the operation in which "the doctor" describes what he is going to do and realizing that the guy is serious. Furthermore, realizing that the writers want us to believe this guy probably graduated from a medical shool somewhere. Frightening.
Very cute with great acting! I wont comment on the "authenticity" of the life of these women, but just as a movie, not a social commentary, it was well acted with a simple yet intriguing plot. I liked the ending.
