One of the best episode of parks and recreation ever. Made me cry. They was happy tears though
Not gonna lie, I'm a little upset that the Morningstar incident didn't involve a veggie burger. That being said this might be one of my fave Parks & Rec ever. The last 10 minutes were just spectacular.
There ain't no party like a Liz Lemon party...
Thank you Tina Fey for making the world a better place to Netflix
Lynch at his most self-indulgent in an episode that spent five awkward minutes or so in the eponymous town. In fact, we're three episodes into this thing now and have maybe spent ten minutes in any of the charming and quirky settings that I fell in love with alongside a young Agent Cooper. Heck, this thing so far has been entirely lacking in any and all of the sorts of people and things that made this show so charming and interesting and quirky in the first place. But it's doubling down -- heck, quadrupling down -- on the weird, almost as if Lynch is determined to ensure that no one can accuse him of going mainstream. A huge disappointment so far.
I can't believe Mark got sent home. One of my favorites and hands down one of the most improved, and I thought he would make it to the finale from the beginning.
Halloween episodes have always been extra fun in this show, but this one took the cake. Faster paced than the previous Halloween episodes, such a roller-coaster of an episode! And Jake focusing on Amy like that, instead of the yearly competition, was utterly adorable!
[edited because of grammar and semantics and stuff]
The best episode of TBBT in years! That "flashback" plot make it funny to watch, the nostalgia of seeing like they were before (creepy nerds) like in the past seasons, not the shitty plot of the current season in the style of "Friends".
The last episode was a lot more hyped up, but I feel this episode was even more nerve wracking.
That scene with Dom searching the Red Wheelbarrow basement was longest 2 minutes of my life.
Most of the episode was good story with exceptional acting, but the ending makes no sense, unless you are a TV show writer that needs June to be in constant danger next season too.
That invisible car payoff was so good.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge must be protected at all costs.
Please don't let this season be consumed with her crazy. It will be great if she ends this having conquered her demons?
The budget for this episode must have costed two minutes worth of Amazon's earnings.
I’m continually impressed by how good the direction and comedic timing of this show is. It’s non-stop fun and amusement sprinkled with wonderful music and visuals.
Fun ending to this episode. Did she decline the sleepover because the room looked dirty? (Per earlier hotel room convo with the wise Carole) Or was Midge dissatisfied with Lenny’s critique of her act, knowing that there were flaws and disappointed at his silver tongue?
ROM POM POM POM MAN DOWN
O Canada! Our home and native land. :flag_ca:
“Holy shit Bruckheimer! When you get an abortion you’re supposed to leave the mangled fetus at the clinic, not staple it to the skeleton of a gay condor and run it for president.”
“Just give it to one of those gay-converting Baptist colleges to fund a statue of a gold-plated Jesus fucking a triceratops.”
“-I have your estrogen patch, if you’d like.
-You wear it. Maybe you’ll grow some hair on your vagina!”
“-What do you think it says?
-I don’t read mandarin, ma’am.
-When do the new Kents come out?”
God, i will miss this show so much!! :(
Cathartic as hell. Bravo. There's an underlying jubilee in the filmmaking on display in this episode that really allows the audience to fly off the rails with glee. And that's truly accomplished stuff.
But I do have a minor gripe with one piece of the writing here. I am more and more uneasy with the show's characters' unwillingness to acknowledge Darlene as a power player in the game of chess that's been going on since episode one. When in reality she's been in on the ground more than Elliot himself. She's gotten her hands dirty and suffered the consequences. I can reason around the characters' ignorance. Perhaps Price and Whiterose just don't really grasp how much f_society is Darlene's as much as Elliot's, but it seems like at some point the show could have a little more reliance in that fact as well. I don't necessarily think it's overwhelming to the point where I am pulled out of the experience. Overall, this is Elliot's story. Darlene is a supporting character, even when they've been pushing more weight onto her as the show goes on, so I don't necessarily think it's the wrong idea to suggest there's stuff going on with her without delving into it as deeply as we do for Elliot. Hell, I've even been critical of the execution of her b-plot this season not being quite as engaging as I would have hoped anyways. But I do think it is the duty of viewers to call out writing short-changing female characters, even if it feels somewhat calculated within the confines of the show.
Regardless, I am enthralled by this two episode streak of Mr. Robot. There was a minor mid-season slump in the writing that was made up for in the craft on display, but this episode shows an incredibly solid cohesion here. In particular, this episode's oner where the Deus Group's gathering is stunning (particularly love that not-so-subtle side-eye thrown to Trump). This series has always shown a very strong grasp on how oners should operate and I place many of them within the upper echelons of one-shots that cinema has to offer. I just love how damn cheeky this one is, though. Conceptually it operates as a troll to the audience. Esmail is so heavily in control of the heist genre he's able to wag his finger at the tropes.
i think some people might be missing the point. yeah they they didn't end up flying off together happily ever after, but they did both get what they both needed.
Dom is last seen sitting in the plane, passed out. this is important because earlier it stresses the point that she has basically not had any kind of meaningful sleep or rest in like 5 years. this is her finally feeling some level of peace, and being in a place where she is not afraid of the worst and able to fall asleep peacefully.
Darlene has been so co-dependent it is crippling to her when she is forced to be alone. she runs off and has a panic attack in the bathroom, but wills herself to accept that she can be ok on her own and this serves as a turning point in her growth and ability to move on and be ok whether she is alone or not. she needs to be able to be alone before she can be with someone.
edit 12/11:
also forgot to point out what i believe to be an intentional play against the stereotypical scene in which the two would have united at the last moment, with a catchy pop song to go along with it by an artist who has been arguably borrowing from the 80s in a large portion of her catalog. and from what i can recall, but i could be wrong, the fact that you hear little to no current pop music as a part of the soundtrack in any way remotely similar to how it is used in this scene, serves to support the intended play against such cliches in other films/shows.
Interesting that the episode has an average 8/10 rating but most of the comments come from people rating this less than that. It's almost as if the 'hate' Star Wars is getting these days is from a vocal minority and not the view of the fanbase as a whole.
Sure Burg was an all-brawn-and-no-brain cliché, but still had personality. Anyone saying the production quality was bad clearly doesn't have eyes and anyone who doesn't understand why he didn't kill clearly doesn't have ears, because Mando's code in that regard is very clear.
Gotta comment after seeing so many haters complain about episodes diverting from the main arc. That’s what so amazing about a Star Wars SHOW. We get to have a little fun outside the bigger picture.
To me, these aren’t filler. These sporadic adventures-of-the-week episodes give us some breathing room to understand our characters a bit more and play around in such an epic sandbox on the small screen. The big story will continue — and we’ll appreciate it even more.
We’re oh-so-lucky to have this echelon of television in our lives. Absolutely stellar.
"Tom... don't cheat on my wife!" He actually said it, speechless! And what a vision, the two "mistresses" having a brief moment. "Hey what do you do here?". Can't get more stranger than this.
Exactly as cringy as it needed to be! Loved it!
So June really raped Luke huh....
"It's pretty, but what's the purpose?" is my most constant thought while watching most scenes in this final season. It's all just unnecessary filler, but I'm still here because I've a problem with quitting things... and people haha... ha (yeah, it's a problem, I'm working on it). Anyway, my finale was the end of last season when June was martyred and carried over the fields by her goodly disciples, that was beautiful, that was the end - FIN.
I mean sure, that was satisfying but let's not pretend it made any kind of sense
omg he shaved his beard. this is so exciting and such amazing innovative writing.
