So that's the best crew we have? Really? I'm disappointed so far. Will give it a try for another 1-2 episodes.
I really wanted this to be good.
But once you see a bunch of teenagers sent to save humanity, and their most important subject to talk about is blogging, you start wondering if it's a joke or you simply misunderstood something.
But then the final moment if the episode comes, and you understand - it's not a joke. It's simply SO BAD.
I really wanted this, but I can't have it. Sorry Katey, they made you wrong.
Another great episode following "Number Crunch". I still enjoy the banter between Reese and Finch with Reese pressing Finch's comfort zones, even after multiple repeat viewings.
You're not tailing her to work!?
I'm getting pretty good at this thing, Finch.
Yes I'm sure the CIA will be deeply impressed when they shoot you.
Just feeling a little restless here, Finch.
...use...the...cushion!
Reese head tilt
The numbers never stop coming in, Finch. What are we gonna do if another one comes in while I'm sidelined?
I'm sure I'll think of something...
And I know you won't carry a gun. But if I'm sending you back in the field you're getting some basic self defence.
No, I really don't think...
Now, listen up. Trask comes at you, put your fingers straight out like this and strike at his eyes.
Poke him in the eyes, that's your technique?
No, that's your technique. And if that doesn't work you can always take your thumb, jam it in his eye socket and twist till you hit his brain.
Please stop.
Inject this into my veins. This is the most Star Trek, Star Trek we've ever got.
"It's a mistake to push a man to violence, if violence is what he has dedicated his life to perfecting."
Well, it was just a question of time when McMahon is going to leave the show after everyone of the LaCroix family has already left. It was well done, quite out of the blue. Now we'll have to get over the mandatory "we are all so sad"-episode and then he'll never be mentionned again... Now, who's going to take over?
The case itself? Heartbreaking - and resourceful with it's alarm-system.
The only 2 interesting characters are gone. What remains is average, dull and uninteresting. Not promising
Lacroix was not playing with that kid. I love seeing him in this role. His character is very level headed, but we also see when he doesn't take any crap. Not to mention I live for the opening scene when he's just being a dad.
It's like a very bad Halo fan-fiction. The first 16 minutes had potential, but that was lost by the episode's end.
I love sci-fi and came in with no expectations. I never played the games and only know the franchise by name, so I can’t go on about faithfulness. But on a pure TV show viewpoint: it’s terrible. It feels like things happen because the story needs it to happen, instead of the story just happening on itself. Character X is in trouble? Here is this thing that magically solves the problem for him. Anything else feels like a filler. The acting is average, the characters feel one-dimensional and lacking in interest. Nothing stood out from this pilot. I will not be watching ep2, hard pass.
This is more "Hell no" than "Halo."
The only way it’s good is if you consider it Halo fan fiction. I don’t get everyone’s obsession with ignoring set lore and making a different timeline. Basing it on the Halo lore, this show is utter crap. So many things went wrong that just directly go against what things stand for from the games. Basing it as a “creative” adaptation of Halo. It’s fine so far, I’m interested to see where it will go. I am simply disappointed that it’s an adaptation rather than showing existing lore as live action. Also I don’t know what everyone is talking about but I find the CGI at the beginning utter crap. In 2022 I should not be able to distinguish between CGI and real.
Wasn't ready for the back-to-back jump scares :sob::sob:
This is what I call "to boldly go...". A wonderful episode that respects the legends, and builds up upon them to reach for the stars.
This is what I call the Sergio Leone approach to Star Wars. Taking its time to flesh out the character, and giving us the answer to many questions we never knew we had. Excellent episode.
Wow, what a finish!
In this sophomore season, the writers put everything in motion, putting their characters to full throttle. Sure, there were few misfires, such as Karen and Danny. But even the weakest elements added up to what this show is all about. Empathy for others and taking those bold steps that define the future.
This final episode wraps so many arcs, not necessarily into a neat bundle, but somehow all sorts of emotions at once. Sad and proud, suspicions and hope, despair and possibilities.
Fantastic season finale. Had all the things I come to this show for. The action scenes in space were great both above and on the moon. I'm sorry to see Tracy and Gordo go, but I think the way it happened was quite powerful. Excited to see the ending tease season 3 focusing on / taking place on Mars, and given the additional time jump of it seems we'll likely be meeting a large swath of new characters. Can't wait for the next season, while Apple TV+ has a few good shows, this show alone justifies the existence of the service for me.
I honestly couldn't have thought of a more fitting ending. It was fantastic.
So far I'm liking the way the story is going, and the organic introduction of characters. It is a pill kinda hard to swallow that things have gone this way with the Federation. However, it reminds me some of the plot in the later DUNE novels, and some proposed plots for a follow-up series after ENT wrapped up and Star Trek Online. I am willing to give it a go.
Michelle Yeoh really steals this episode. So far, so good with the story and character development.
Great Kevin Smith cameo in this one
I'm willing to work with this premise for a while. I would much rather they reunite sooner rather than later.
The last 4 minutes make everything fit right in. Awesome plot twist.
After watching the whole season, this is the only episode I felt was fun, engaging and written pretty much like the original SAC series. It happens outside the story arc, so I recommend it highly.
The premise is directly taken from the Appleseed book. Not the best, but watchable. However, the graphics and animation are awful. ARISE looks beautiful compared with this cheap PS2 graphics fare. The music is also bombastic and muffles the japanese dialogue. Not worth the wait.
Way better than I was expecting. I'm pretty sure the show will find its footing right away. The story is compelling and it really follows onto events that are part of Star Trek's canon. As they say, I am all in for the journey ahead.
Much better than I had feared. From some of the rumors I had heard my expectations were low. Screw all that. It was pretty good. I'm not saying they still don't have time to cock the whole thing up but some of my optimism has returned. Let's hope this is more Mandalorian than Last Jedi or Fall of Skywalker.
Wow, this was way better than I expected it to be.
A bit sad, that the federation seems to have strayed from its main mission.
The participation of Star Trek veterans as producers shows. Buildings and technology look like they belong in the ST Universe, no 2 million gigantic technological leaps in the first 45 minutes (well one, but that one is kind of needed...)
Best of all: They concentrated on the story instead of preaching some agenda.
So thats a 9/10 from me.
