As a life-long fan of Archie Comics... the classic and modern.. I completely enjoyed this. I don't understand why people think it is soooo far fetched for Riverdale to be a bit darker. Have you never heard of "Archies Weird Mysteries" or "Afterlife with Archie". Compared to "Afterlife", Riverdale is completely wholesome... At least Jughead isn't a zombie. I think this is a creative modern retelling directed toward a young adult audience. But also, because of how far back this franchise reaches (1939), it is nostalgic for older audiences. I am 36 and loved every minute of it, so did my mom and her boyfriend (he just turned 70). I think some critics here are being a bit harsh... this is a teen drama based on a comic based on teens... this is NOT Shakespeare! Get off your high horse, let this show be the light entertainment it is meant to be and go watch NCIS or something more intellectual. So far I love how they've taken characters created in the 30's and brought them into 2017. I am happy they've diversified the characters a bit more (again, 1939 and very white-washed). And if they wanna get a bit magical and bring Sabrina in.... GO FOR IT! Anyway, some people should just figure out that they are not the target audience and move on... let the rest of us enjoy what is turning out to be a fun series.
