Predictable plot, has some nicely done jumpscares. Saw it in the cinema but this would be better at night home alone instead of the snickering fools in the cinemaroom destroying any carefully built tension so my advice is to wait for the Blu-Ray.
This is an amazing sequel, totally worth the watch! Gotta love the Sanderdon Sisters! :black_heart:
Well, one of the better new Christmas movies I have seen in a while I have to say. Basically it’s typical Eddie Murphy meets Jumanji with a huge bath of Christmas sprinkles emptied over it. Also stick around for the end credits for bonus scenes.
Pleasantly surprised, cute and whitty, refreshing take on the classic tale.
Checking the movie in the cinema tonight as they re-released it - this time in 4K 3D HFR Atmos. It is most definitely amazing to see it like this and a great way to refresh my memory in anticipation of the upcoming Avatar 2.
I enjoyed the movie, all 3 hours of it, but I literally have no clue as to what I just saw other than countless mindf:asterisk_symbol:cks and whf/wth moments. Beautifully made and filmed but - even taking into account this is arthouse - what was it really? Sure, the synopsis pushes you in a certain direction as does the plot, but if anything this was maddening. If that was the intention, well played Ari Aster, well played.. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
A beautiful fairytale that keeps inspiring to this very day. If you can find it, this is definitely a title to have your kids watch and stick around as you might enjoy it all the same.
A refreshing adaptation of the award winning novel. Fun to watch. That said, when put side by side to the original movie adaptation from the 1990s, which is pretty timeless same as this musical adaptation is, I have to say that 90s movie is the best between the two. That being my personal preference.
This made me think of the Little Nemo cartoon us 80s kids are likely to remember from our childhood. https://trakt.tv/movies/little-nemo-adventures-in-slumberland-1989
I suppose this is an adaptation or remake if you will and worth the watch if you liked that. Still, don’t get too hung up on the original storyline and try to think of this as something new. :kissing_heart:
Partly confused, partly in two minds about this flick. I will just write it off as an alternate universe or something because the Shazaam origin story doesn’t seem to fit the previous movie(s) and the other characters seem to be a bit off as well. Suppose without any knowledge of previous movies with these characters it’s pretty much okay as a stand alone watch, though.
A cute scifi movie. Enjoyed it more than perhaps I should, because despite of some inconsistencies I am a sucker for flicks like these. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
I was a tad disappointed with this one, as oppose to the previous ones that were all great! If you've been chronologically watching these and made it up to here, recommend not to watch this one - it's better to remain in the buzz from the previous ones. x
The first 40 minutes I thought I was watching ‘Antebellum’ with a different name. The pace was higher though and indeed this is a different movie.
