Why was Doctor Who serialized from 1963 to 1989? Partially because that's how most scifi shows were aired at the time, but also because the stories they wanted to tell couldn't be told within one or two episodes.
Flux is a story that didn't need six episodes. Most of the content doesn't even need to be here. Instead of inserting things that are mentioned every episode only to pay off one tiny, insignificant detail, maybe find a way to get to the payoff without cluttering up the rest of the narrative. They should have had that first Sontaran episode and the Weeping Angel one be standalone, then have the Sontarans come back for their original plan for a three part finale. No 19th century miner digging tunnels, no weird crystal people, just a nice tight story.
You know, for a universe-ending event, there sure doesn't seem like there's a rush. They just make it more confusing by making the Flux affect the past, but not really? They introduce too many new things, people, and worldbuilding to keep track of. Plus, the editing is a bit wonky.
This had some potential. If only they'd trimmed the fat and kept a focused vision, we might have had something halfway decent.
Once Upon a Time has been dying for several seasons. It should have ended right before the Frozen episodes began (they have prepared the end so well then). Some of them were worthwhile, some of them less so, but the show has been clearly struggling. Sorry to say, but I was quite relieved to read that this will be its last season as season 7 is so bad that it kind of makes even the better seasons worse in retrospective.
Loved it!
Hopefully Netflix doesn't cancel another good show.
While this had a bit too much teen drama around the middle (average The CW type of thing) and can be at times a bit cheesy, this is what the reboot of Sabrina should have been.
Gloomy, dark, morbid, humorous, not taking itself too serious, not trying to push a societal or political agenda.
Rather tell a fun, entertaining story. Can't help it either that it feels a tad Hogwarts-y with the main cliquès.
Hopefully this gets a second season.
Each and every episode with Jodie makes me think that she has been done so dirty with the writing. It hurts how good she could've been written.
What is this season? There is barely a story left! All they do is have sex, cheat on each other, use drugs, drink a lot, fight and that's it. I think ive got a whiplash from the amount of shaking my head during this season... Smh!
i adored christopher eccleston as the doctor, it pains me that we only got one season of him in the role but i will gladly continue to rewatch his series over and over again. brings back so much nostalgia and many many good feelings.
After Big Bang, Scrubs and Friends the best sitcom I know and another great example for why a laughter track is absolutely no requirement for realizing an outstanding sitcom! I can only recommend this series!
What a great season! Even if I didn't agree with the final decision I can't disagree that this is by far one of the best season of the whole franchise, there was so much talent and now I want a third season asap!
