Great fun. A much better witch show than the new Charmed so far. Well, or the old Charmed for that matter.
This was kind of depressing for much of the episode. Given that they dealt with Roseanne's character being dead (to explain Roseanne Barr's firing), that was probably necessary for this first episode. I want to give this another episode (which presumably won't be so focused on the absent character). I expect this will fall into that "ok to watch, but not something I have to see" territory, which was great to be in the 1990s, but which is easily forgotten in today's Internet streaming age, when most people have access to vast amounts of programming and don't need to limit themselves to what networks are airing in prime time.
What is that young buck doing with old crazy Darlene. It was utterly horrifying to watch and I am still feeling traumatized.
While the Whisperers are a cool idea, the more I think about them, the more they don't stand up to scrutiny. We've seen in previous seasons that to go undetected by the dead, people have to smuther themselves in guts thus implying the dead work on some sense of smell. The Whisperers don't do this, they merely pop on a dried out face of a dead person and somehow the actual dead are supposedly convinced the living person is a dead person. It's at the level of Superman hiding his identity by putting on a pair of specs.
Furthermore, I realise the show has been often criticised for lack of character development but, honestly, I couldn't give a shit about this Rosita/Gabe/Sadiq "love triangle with added baby". I think it does the greatest disservice to Rosita who, from what little previous development she's had over all these years, has always been a fiery character, so to see her potentially be made into some incredibly boring mother character is irritating.
Now quit parking in the crippled spot. What you got ain't a disability... Just poor fucking judgement.
I love the savage Ruth, she's hilarious.
Wow... This was an emotional Season Finale.
I'm so happy for Piper, she's free. The wedding was super cute too.
The inmates won't have to fear for Carol and Barb decisions anymore. Now it's time to get rid of of Badison too.
Poor Taystee, she deserve better than this.
Of couse immigration has to make the appearance. Not fair at all. Blanca only wanted a baby with Diablo.
Caputo was amazing this season. He was supportive and got the woman he likes. The other bitch needs to be gone. She's only there for publicity.
I really hope Lorna's baby get to be fine. She was so excited to met him/her.
Damn... Too much happened in this season. I can't wait to see how it goes.
Till next time.
So hilarious and yet sad. The effects of meth causing paranoia and hallucinations. I worked with a kid whose mom and boyfriend got hook on it. They'd stay in the house looking out the windows saying there were men with guns in the trees. Wow.
Jamie and Claire's hair in the underwater scene though...
Holy Molly! Who directed this episode? Quentin Tarantino feat George R. Martin? are you even kidding me?
However, I have to say that was the best episode in a while, probably the best episode in the whole series. So stressful and unnerving, yet amazing at the same time.
I love that the writers idea of a "Christmas" episode is literally killing everyone, putting others at risk, leaving others in the balance, hating absolute sweethearts andleaving us hanging until January. But, hey, Merry Christmas, everybody! Yeah, everybody is going to die.
I knew the episode was going to be stressful. I mean, it's entitled "Quarantine", what the hell are you expecting? But killing one patient after another like that made me think about the characters plot armor. But none of them used it. Poor Dr Lim. If she dies I'll take into consideration leaving the show. I've loved her since the first minute she appeared. I love her sassy attitude and how she puts everyone in their place. I don't believe for a second the writers would kill her off right after introducing her and Melendez. The on-off relationship could be interesting.
However, I do think one of the major characters is gonna bite the dust. My money is on Park. Something about him has been off lately.
I loved how this episode changed Morgan and I wonder (if she survives) how she's gonna use her empathy now. I loved seeing her with the ambulance guy.
Freedie Highmore is a treasure. I don't think he gets enough credit for the amazing job he does. I love how they showed that skipping lunch and the buzzing lights can drive him crazy. Autistic people are normally fixed to a particular schedule and if they miss it, well, that happens.
I was expecting some good news and then Dr Glassman had to day that the tumor is back. That news hit me like a tone of bricks.
The last 4 minutes. Shaun is unable to do anything, Glassman's tumor is back, poor Santa in the operating table, that poor guy without his donor, and Lim, I don't even know.
It was fun and darker than I expected.
But just like Riverdale, I hate the pretentiousness of not telling what age this takes place in. Are we in the 1950s? Are we in the 2010s'?
Apart from that, I'm in.
i just wanna say: Amelia and Link YES! i want them as a real couple!
and fuck off owen
Not bad but I'll need a few more episode to be sure..
Damn. That was crazy towards the end. And why do they hate Jamie so much?
Well, this had everything. It had a main story focusing on the kids, a grand scheme for Louise, Gene at his most exuberant, Tina feeling morally conflicted, Linda so excited to participate in a show, Bob vaguely in disbelief but supportive through it all, the art supply folks at their ornery best, Teddy pretending to be Jewish, the Fishoeders adding their oddball flair to whatever they touch, and Henry mf'n Winkler as Santa Claus.
And if that weren't enough, you have Louise reaching the moment of truth, the moment of her purest Machiavellian excellence, and pulling back from the brink because she realizes it's too much, even for her, and hoping that her siblings can still get their due from Santa despite her. I'm not ashamed to admit I welled up a little bit when Santa came out to tell Louise that she's a leader. There's so much damn heart in the show, and yet it's never treacly, always earned.
And also always funny. Oh man I laughed every time Louise shut down Bob and told him that he knew nothing about Santa, or Teddy saying "oy gevault" or Mr. Fishoeder trying to entertain the crowd. This is a brilliant show, and it's put together yet another wonderful holiday episode.
Regardless the modest storyline, there's something very cozy about this show. I wouldn't dare expect every single TV show to be a hit, so I'm gonna keep following this one for what it is.
Can we just pretend like nothing happened and hope no one notices?
That's my whole philosophy in life.
lol
I find this series an endless delight. The characters are always interesting, and I feel enriched from sharing the cultural ambience.
That little tear got me in the feels, dammit... [insert cry emoticon]
Yazzzzz... Haha. Another awesome episode. That last image though of Philip and Kimmy was very ominous though.
This has been one of the best episodes so far! Kelly Reilly is fantastic and really adds depth to the character of Beth. She is terribly mean and strong but vulnerable. Who wouldn't be fucked up after the way her Mother treated her right before her death?!
Fèlix doesn't fuck around.
the chevalier-philippe fight was one of the funniest things ever.
also, im really sick of Madame de Montespan. cant wait for her to go away
I will admit to still wearing Love's Baby Soft, but I had forgotten that television ad. I also will admit to dressing exactly like Kimmy, wearing a dark bra under a pink angora sweater, while I was roller skating to Yazoo at Skate Key. Yes, my parents let me out of the house like that...
Gonna rewatch this again
Get it Amelia! Cute af new hair, mad chemistry with Link! Makes a nice change from her usual unworthy love interest Owen!
Mere def missed out. So not into DeLuca.
Just disappointed in the use of Scott Glenn as the Ed Harris Needful Things character. Not one mention of what happened in Needful Things.
So why is his character even in it ?
Still that might have been the best episode. Sad, weird and pretty well done. But what the hell is going on ?
The end was very interesting. The episode started well. I think I will keep watching the show. It seems promising and has the potential to be very good and exciting.
