Is this a masterpiece?
No
It isn’t

Are the effects good?
Yeah they are pretty good, they aren’t Realistic, but have an almost computer game graphics effect to them.
Which at first you think is jankie and second rate, but then as the movie goes on you accept it for what it is.
I’m almost inclined to believe this is the effect they wanted or embraced.
The storyline is okay, nothing we haven’t seen before and probably done better, but I think they did a good effort all in all….

Switch your brain off and watch a sci-fi movie that takes sci-fi and pushes its limits to an almost unbelievable scale, your enjoy it for what it is then, rather then trying to compare it to super budget movies….
Look at it as if your in a computer game

I’d only ever watch it again if someone else wanted too!
It not bad, but then it’s not good…
The musical numbers are very theatrical and almost out of place, its song after song and then it seems to forget it’s a musical until the end.
It’s a very interesting retelling/reinterpretation of the story, but you get the feeling they tried to cram far too much in…..
20-30mins could have Been shaved off the run time, by cutting the Farrell love story all together, maybe just have scene at the end of him or her asking the other if they fancy a drink “with a wink”

It’s a good movie!!!
No Oscar’s will be won and no body will rave about it….
Don’t wait until you have watched all the movies that you want to see, to get around to this one.
Put it on your list for you that movie you want to see soon…..
But give it a watch and your guaranteed to cry at least once, it will become a different movie to the one you thought you were going to watch, but that’s not a bad thing!
You will figure out where it’s going and what you believe the ending will be, it will then give you a curveball and say “ no we aren’t going there”
But then it will immediately start going there, but once again it will look you straight in the face and say “we are fooling with you, we aren’t going to really do that” then it will…..
The last ten minutes you will see all those lined up penny’s fall into place and your finish this film feeling how you should……
SAD, HAPPY, TEARFUL but best of all……

A movie with so many great actors and yet you get this pile of :poop:
This goes to show you can throw as much money as you like at a movie and your still get a stinker….

This movie is just trash…..
It makes no sense at any point of the 1hr 59 min run time!
Do we watch magic Mike movies for the storylines? Hell no, but it has to make some sort of sense or be consistent…..
This is just all over the place and as for that bloody voice over by the daughter, why??????

It’s a romcom and it’s a fair one at that, no point picking holes, it does what it says on the tin……
The cast is okay and do what is asked of them, the storyline is the normal romcom formate and it doesn’t deviate from it….

You won’t necessarily remember the movie but you will enjoy it well watching it.

Could it have been better?
Probably….
Does it matter?
Not really….

Switch of your brain and watch it and enjoy it, then move on to the next movie you want to watch….

Oh, I did enjoy the credits singalong, very enjoyable and I hope they all enjoyed filming it…..

Leaves you feeling some what uncomfortable, that feeling you get when watching a sex scene with your parents in the room….
To be honest I found it to be rather tasteless and crude, once we got to the full frontal nude scene, which was totally uncalled for, I stopped watching….
I’m not a proud, but there’s no need for nudity or even lengthy bedroom scenes, suggesting these thing works far better….

This film starts of so well, sadly it doesn’t end so good…..
It never really gets going, you wait and you wait and you wait, you think here we go it’s going to kick off and go into top gear any minute now!!!!
IT DOESN’T……
There are two great jump out of your skin moments, the story could be great, it’s a brilliant concept, even the “alien” is different and refreshing!
But some how the film just doesn’t deliver and you feel cheated at the end…..
Will I watch it again?
Never, not even if someone else begs me!
Even if you’ve watched ever film you possibly ever wanted to watch, you shouldn’t even both with giving this one a go…..

Your family our dogs, that’s the story of this movie….

What a movie, take the joker and add in loads of dogs and you have this movie.

It’s twisted
It’s weird
It’s off the wall
It’s even funny is a strang way
There’s nothing else like it
Your want to watch it again

Switch off your brain and any preconceived ideas, don’t let parts of the storyline put you off.
This is a story of a man broken by life and how he gives the world a two finger salute, with the aid of he’s family, his family of dogs :dog2:

Some people just don’t get it and give it such low scores, which is a shame

B to c list stars in a okay to fair who dun it….
All in all I’ve seen a lot worse and it’s entertaining.
It’s not a Saturday night thing, it’s more a mind week movie to get you through the week.
Give it a watch and don’t have to high a expectation and just enjoy a low budget, reasonable effort movie

I was going to go 7/10 and in the big scheme of things it maybe should be a 7/10, but I did really enjoy this movie….
I went into it thinking it would fill some time and be okay, which it was and did….
But then we got a film with a little bit more depth to it then your normal romcom, someone actually put a bit of thought into this film and the casting was spot on 101%

6/10 FAIR

The first half of this movie has you reaching for the off switch, it terribly miss the mark….
BUT…….
Then the second half kicks in and it finds its feet, starts to pay off and you almost forgive them for the start…..
It has a good cast and that helps a lot, it definitely could lead to follow up movies that could only get better….
This is a midweek movie to watch and eventually enjoy, as long as you can get through that first half…
Those that have given it lower scores and didn’t like it, I understand where your coming from!

Knowing the on going story of “the bank of Dave” it’s a shame that this film took a lot of liberties with the storyline and went so heavy on the romantic side, the true story doesn’t need this.
All those involved in the story are true characters almost comedic at time, this should have been a more realistic film with a comical hint…..

With all this said I still gave it a 7/10 for being okay.

DAVE FISHWICK is a legend and a big the life character, which just doesn’t show through in this movie…….

A stellar cast, young actors with such talent.
Is it possible to have a fairytale like war film?
If so this is it…
You will scream bastards 3-4 times
You will cry at least once
This is a truly stunning movie, that I could watch over and over again.
Even though it’s set in France, it’s very very British and almost of another era of movie making, which we don’t seem to get anymore….

7-10 for the first 3/4 of the film

10-10 for the final 1/4 of the movie

Right from the out set, you know where this film is going and can understand all the characters and what’s happening.

Or you really think you do!!!!!

I almost gave up on it half way through, thinking to myself that I’ve seen this all before and this isn’t adding anything new to this kind of storyline, even though it’s doing it well.
You’ve worked it all out, you know what the twist is going to be and then the rug is pulled from underneath you.
When you realise this, the movie becomes totally entertaining and you smile and say to yourself, okay you got me there….
Then for me it takes another twist and says, yeah you got it, you got the twist, but know we are going to twist the twist once more.

Which is 1000% spot on, clever and a dam you moment.
I will be watching this again and next time I’ll probably see things that weren’t obvious the first time watching and probably was there to be seen…..

Something very different from hallmark and all the better for it, hopefully they will do more like this.
If your looking for everything to be historical correct, then dial it back a bit and remember this isn’t a big budget movie, but they do very well on getting a fair bit right…..
Well worth a look and enjoy something lite for once….

Also a interesting small appearance of Sarah Ferguson, hamming it up lol

Now this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and this will be for a number of reasons, be it the sexuality or the holding on to the past and love ones that have gone.
But this is a very clever and intriguing movie that plays out at its own speed and you just have to go along with it and wait to see where it’s going to end up.
I have to say I didn’t see the ending coming and I’m normally very good at this, plus to have the table turned on you twice in the last few moments is ingenious.
The very ending, we’re the song tells you the meaning of the whole storyline is again very clever.
It’s not a highbrow movie, but you have to be able to think out of the box and to be able to interpret what your seeing and read into what’s being shown to you.
As I said this won’t be for everyone, especially those that have to have it spelt out to them.
I definitely will revisit this movie in the future and probably will get even more from it the next time round.

But it’s so good at all these things it makes it a 10/10 movie for me, it’s so so so bad, it makes it so so so good lol

Normally I’d say, if you have nothing else to watch, then give it a watch….
But I can’t even say that about this one.

This is a film which should have been made in the 90’s and it would have been a great movie, the acting is just about bearable, but in most cases the actors phone their performance in and play their parts as if they are stuck in the 90’s
The action scenes are good to great and entertaining, but the story is so dated……

Give it a watch all the same and make believe you’ve gone back in time and watching a great movie….

As a film it’s a 6/10 but the 8/10 is for it being a romcom….
Great cast, very well acted and a damn good storyline that follows the normal rules for romcoms, but somehow adds a new slant on them……
My only complaint is the very end, it’s a little bit boring for an ending, but it’s still a good romcom

At the end of the day this romantic comedy doesn’t really work!!!!
The lead actress is very wooden and doesn’t know how to show emotion of any kind….
The few minutes we had with the original boyfriend made him a more interesting character for me and I found myself wanting the story to be flipped and for her to die!!!!!
It also has a very English feel to it as if it should be based in London instead of New York, most of the other characters just had the mannerisms of the British and I guess this was boosted by so many English actors in the movie…..
The movie ends up being okay :thumbsup:
It’s worth watching once at least, but be ready to wish there was a few changes to it….
I don’t think it would ever be a fantastic movie however it was made, but instead of being a fair movie, it could have been a good movie….

This started of as a 7/10 then dropped to a 6/10 and then finally a 5/10.
A will they won’t they romcom, not so bad boy not so good girl movie, nothing new there….
At the half way mark it dawns on you that the movie doesn’t work, the cast are good, the overall story is good, it’s just the way it’s all chopped up and the timing is all wrong……
These aren’t collage/university kids, they should be fresh out of college into their first/second year of work, getting kicked down by life!
It should have started with being conned by her father and her leaving to start a fresh, somewhere new, then the romantic storyline.
Ending with her getting pulled back in and the boyfriend coming to find her, the story was good just some of it told in the wrong order….
This said, they could do a follow up and make it about them doing risky deals and gambling with some fight scenes and I’d watch that…

Wanted to give it a 6 but just couldn’t do it!!!!
The storyline is okay almost good, sadly everything else is just that, OKAY but not good……
Camera work is off, the editing is anything but smooth and chops all over the place.
the actor’s where given their stereotypical characters to play and that’s what they did, played them very stereotypically…..
The whole thing just comes off as a movie made for tv and no one involved seems to be at the top of their game, just passable.
At the end of the day it’s okay, it’s a Sunday afternoon movie, but if remade in the future it could be a suspenseful murder thriller worth watching a few times….

This is not Luther!!!!!!!!
It’s the following
10% Luther
40% saw
20% bond
10% mission impossible
20% silence of the lambs

They have taking a Luther script and then cranked it up 1000%, don’t worry about the plot holes, we need to make this a s over the top as possible…..
Strip out all the OTT bond/mission impossible material and you have a blooming good Luther film, strip out all the Luther material and you have a thoroughly entertaining new bond/mission impossible style franchise…..

As romcoms go this one is a bit stale…
Considering it has a half good cast you would have expected better, it’s slow, there’s no real character building and the so called “connection” “romance” “passion” just doesn’t exist.
Also ASHTON is unrecognisable in this film, one two many booster shot I think and I think he phoned he’s performance in on this one….
Normally I would say wait until you’ve watch all the films you want to see before watching this, but on this occasion write a letter to Netflix and as for the hour+ of your life back…

I so wanted to give this movie a higher score and it got so close to getting it!
But ever time it jumped out of the story to the soap opera/comedy show it just ripped you out of the story with it…..
That finally one in the hospital as they were saying goodbye just cut through the emotional moment, leaving me angry with this movie…..
I understand that maybe they wanted to try something different and possibly avoid the normal cliches/stereotypes, but this just ruined the whole movie in the end.
Give me this movie with all those cutaway scenes deleted and I would have been a wreck and the movie would have got a 8 possible 9 score.

I don’t know Reba as a singer or as an actress!
But I enjoyed this movie…..
It’s not a Oscar winner in any shape or form, but the story is good, the acting okay-good…..
All I can say is I hope we get a few more follow up movies or even better a series out of it!

I was lucky to have seen the original series all those years ago on itv uk!
This film version is okay, I went into as a whole new story and believe me did my best to forget the original......
The characters are watered down to the original and at no point did I feel connected to them or rooting for them!
If you haven’t seen the tv show, your love the film, I just liked it!
But it’s given me a reason to go back and watch the original and maybe hope that a new tv version comes along and based back in the uk with actresses that are super strong hard nosed bitches playing the parts.....
