A very solid start for this thriller. A good cast and what appears to be an interesting story.
So far the plot is still up for grabs, but the first two episodes made wanting for more and having a lot of questions, which for me is what I like on a good thriller. Needless to say having Idris Elba is a +.
If you like thrillers, give this a go and ignore the low rate it was because had more than 18 votes of 1* months before airing.
Not the best show by any means but definitely something engaging when you need some mindless entertainment.
Episode 07
Another Woke ideological crap with a very very poor history .
What a shame.
Boring show, i don’t get the hype because it’s really not that good
This is the biggest waste of 3 hours you will ever do. I had nothing else to watch and sat through all three episodes (don’t ask me why). Better time would have been spent with me putting my head in a vice. The entire mess could easily have been condensed to 1 ½ hours with some easy editing. Better yet, just play a blank screen and the radio version from 1938 – that would have worked too.
-10/10 Worst EVER!
It starts out like this fun, sharp social satire about the different worlds that the working class and upper class exhibit (as well as the lack of understanding they have about each other). As the season goes along, the social satire gets pushed aside and instead it goes completely bonkers with the plot. It’s over the top, it switches genres whenever it feels like it, it’s unpredictable, and most of all it’s very entertaining. In fact, it might actually be one of the most accessible A24 productions, there’s a Tarantino feel to it that might just click with general audiences. I just don’t understand this show’s obsession with alt rock from the late 90s and early 00s. I don’t see what it adds to these characters, it doesn’t comment on the story in an interesting way, and most of these particular songs aren’t even that good. To me it feels like a middle of the road, safe choice for a show that’s otherwise so bold, exciting and carefully assembled.
8/10
You can skip this! Trust me, you are not missing out on much.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzz zzz zzz zzzzzzz.
Never seen boredom like this before.
Episodes random order is such a bad idea 6 /10
Yeah...... so I went from "wtf is this crap?" 10 minutes into episode 1, to absolutely loving the show by the end of the final episode. 8/10 from me. Never seen the anime original but will definitely check it out while I wait for season 2 of the live action.
Fantastic opening 2 episodes, look forward to seeing more
[Initial Impression]. I think I'm really going to enjoy this series. It is a feel good show. It is one of the new mid-season replacements, with a quirky fantasy premise that musical theatre people are going to love. The cast is a great mix of established talent (Mary Steenburgen, Lauren Graham) and great young talent. Jane Levy shines and perfectly creates a fully articulated, emotionally varied, Zoey. Although this is on the NBC lineup, it is filmed in Canada:flag_ca:, therefore, is filled with Canadian support talent:flag_ca:. The music is great, performances are great and the premise is fresh and hopeful. Based on the first episode, I rate this series, you guessed it, an 8, (great) out of 10. [Fantasy Drama]
wasn't expecting much from this , but suprising its good
Everything is over the top. Terrible acting, silly plots. It’s just awful, but you have to watch it to see how ridiculous it can get
Just binged it, and it is fantastic. Superb production with great acting and captivating screenplay.
It's... great... although by episode 4 you realise it's going to be a slow paced, slow burn and it seems to be focusing on the relationship more than any action.
Well, another complete bastardization of the commonly accepted Arthurian legends. Characters are mixed up, relationships are mixed up, roles are mixed up...
The production is done reasonably well but I cannot stomach the bastardized story line... At least not after watching S1E1... I'll not be watching more episodes especially if MGM requires me to pay above and beyond basic subscription.
Great start looking forward to more twists and turns.
I know house makeover shows tend to be very fake, but this one is off the charts. The lady who presents it says she started a business because she remodeled her own house and from that she has a whole building as office? I'm not sure about that one chief.
Also with such a big company I doubt they would be doing small projects like the one they show.
And everyone is very annoying.
Huge fan of Downton Abbey... This show isn't that so far... YES the costumes, the scenery, the sets! However the casting is falling flat. No one is likeable; the people your supposed to root for are cold as of first episode. Will watch more... but I'm not going to be putting this at #1 to watch for the week...
was somewhat disappointed. Production was lacking in many episodes. Felt like a CW show. Dion comes across as annoying.
I watched the first episode and it was 95% narrating and 5% the actual remodeling, so it’s a no from me! I love watching interior design shows for the you know designing/remodeling and this was just the Mcgee family talking about themselves, so I guess it’s more of a reality show of a family with an interior design studio. I think the call project took about 3 weeks and we got 2 minutes out of it, and the only design decisions we get to see were centering the fireplace and painting the walls blue. So if you are expecting to see the process behind the designing this isn’t the right show, if you wanna watch an american family talking about themselves and posing with their kids then I guess you could watch this.
Lovely series.....fresh story line... Watch
Neat concept but too many cliches to list. It’s like they used AI to write a sitcom script as it checks all the boxes.
It’s not my cup of tea and I don’t plan to I watch the rest after a couple of episodes. it’s cute at times, but there are too many annoying supporting cast characters that bug me.
Great little drama. Finishing off the unfinished novel in a typically c21st fashion. No Austen derived production can be wholly faithful, and this one revels in that, and makes a modern piece that is about the dramatic potential of what there was there for us today. If you didn't like it read the partial book and come up with your own, as many have done. Of course many say it wasn't Austen at the conclusion. NSS.
Its worth watching. If you enjoyed Devil's Advocate movie without the sexy bits. Then this is for you. What if the devil was your boss? For me if the devil was my boss. I would quit day one! Besides if you stop remote working, the first day you are running a company. This is surely the work of the devil! :)
Stumbled across this when I couldn't sleep. Watched 2 episodes and both made me cry. Beautiful TV
4 episodes in and I like the "bad" guy more than I like the protagonist. She is just not likeable and I have no care what happens to her. It's also very slow paced and it's kind of hard to like. I'll see what happens but so far.... there's nothing here.
Naff. One believable character throughout (and played well by Mark Addy) with what is pretty much the only worthwhile story thread. Almost everything about the series just cries out how this was such a waste of the name, characters, actors themselves, and ultimately my own time. Piss-poor, like right 'up' there with the later seasons of Stella and really could've just been any other show of that ilk.
Why did they even bother when clearly they didn't have anyone who could write for sh*t, let alone something actually relevant to the film? Not even asking for a rehashing of that, but just something worthwhile, honest, and believable. Made Last of the Summer Wine look like a documentary.
