So far this season sucks. The acting/dialogue is inferior to the first season and the story is confusing. Reacher is also acting like a jerk. The fight sequences are embarrassingly bad.
The show is insanely woke, with a lot of feminism and liberal politics such as calling Mount Rushmore racist in other pathetic garbage. Also race swapping and progressive couples. Amber is a mouthpiece for a lot of this crap because she is a feminist SJW, perhaps a self insert for the writers. [Another theory I read is that the writers may have been forced to add in wokeness, so they put it in a character who steps out later on and is very annoying]
So far it has not been actively racist against White people like Blue Eye Samurai so I may be willing to give it a 5 instead of a 4.
Omni-Man is based though, he did nothing wrong. Apparently the first 75 chapters of the comic are not woke so I might go ahead and read that instead.
Not into love triangles or relationship drama.
Starts bad, gets better, and ends very well.
I appreciate how respectful of religion this season has been so far. The ending was pretty insane also. Close to a 10 honestly. Some stuff just wasn't explained like how Lagertha managed to get a whole army to help him and how killing her husband made her Earl and some stuff like that.
Little too biased towards the Vikings. Also some feminism. Lagertha is annoying.
Boring. I have never been less invested in a main character. Ahsoka is a plank of wood.
Only redeeming quality is some visuals.
Worst season easily. Feels like the story is going in circles. Tired of every relationship being a disaster except one. I do not care about the Cylon pitty party. Adama is a tyrant, the President is a tyrant. Their relationship is gross and they needed to die off at some point to change up the dynamic of the show.
They made a major mistake not killing any of the season regulars in Felix's coup. The president has had "terminal" cancer for 4 effing seasons like wtf? Somebody really needed to die there and it was really disappointing when nothing happened. RIP Felix, I went from hating to liking you in 1 episode.
Too much moralistic crap. Sloppy ending (Dozens dead for a single kid? What?). Too much stuff doesn't make sense.
Baltar's still my favorite I don't care how much he gets trashed by the show unfairly. Enjoyed your harem bro.
Never at any point wanted to stop watching though so I will say I enjoyed every season. Good show. When you don't care about a character you can literally just not pay attention and still understand the story which makes it a very low stress watch too. Easy to watch and do other things.
The 150,000 years later bit was nice.
Baltar continues to carry this show. Taking off points cause I'm sick of all the stretching this show does to make him seem like the bad guy. Every other character is a piece of trash human. Lee, Starbuck, Adama, the President, can be very annoying. Mostly Starbuck and the President. Massive stretches to justify the tyranny and horrible behavior of the president. She is so much worse than Baltar ever was, having cancer doesn't make you sympathetic.
So much filler in this season. The parts that aren't filler are better. Docking a point for an abortion episode. I hate the president so much is is unreal. Everything about her, from her voice, her way of speaking, her appearance, her opinions, is upsetting.
I have always thought about how when AI gets advanced enough it might start to look biological, and this explores that which is really cool. Wasn't expecting that going into this.
Makes me think about a funny situation in the future where AI is worried about their biological creations rising up and overthrowing them the way we worry about AI.
Better than I expected. Gaius having conversations with 6 and other people at the same time was really funny.
"I don't know Tony. It's like... just the regularness of life is too hard for me or something, I don't know."
This was written by depressed hands.
Seems woke. Lesbians, strong female leaders, etc.
I barely paid attention at all but the last naval battle was cool.
I remember skimming the last season because I cared so little about everything happening. That's about it. Also the ASMR voiceover was annoying.
The best western animation I have seen so far despite how critical I am of it. s3 8/10, overall 9/10 for the show.
Why is Zuko and Mai my favorite part of this season and not the main characters? Katara was irritating too, feels like her character changed a lot from last season in a bad way. Her mom arc also went nowhere and she was so obsessed with it. Aang simping for Katara up until the very end with relationship drama up to the last episode is very unsatisfying and crappy writing.
I do not get what this show is trying to say about females. Why is Azula kissing a random guy Chan at a party when she just met him? Why are females so hypersexual with random guys in this show? Even guys kind of are tbh. Sokka and Zuko both kissed random girls when they already had other girls. Like what is happening.
Why is Roku fighting a Volcano instead of just helping people escape? Why doesn't Aang ever learn any of the cool moves other people can do like ice, lightning, blood, metal, healing? He doesn't even learn cool air moves and that is supposed to be his thing. Aang has been sidelined a lot by other characters and didn't see a lot of growth. Just struggling with the same issues.
Azula's mental breakdown in the last episode was kind of sad tbh. Would watch a show on her redemption, would be interesting since she is so much more messed up the Zuko. It's also interesting that she is depicted as such a cruel character but you still feel sympathetic for her at the end. Very good writing there.
I also liked the beach episode where they opened up about their insecurities. I also liked uncle Iroh helped people because he failed to help his son.
9/10, better finale than s1, not sure which season I liked more. I like how kind Katara is but I dislike how Aang is just constantly simping for her when, although she clearly likes him, she shows it a lot less. Their relationship dynamic is not terrible but it is not great either. She treats him like a kid and it makes it just seem really awkward tbh. Rayla and Callum's relationship in The Dragon Prince seemed a lot more mutual and they weren't constantly cucking each other and making each other jealous and it was a lot more satisfying overall. They also got more moments despite being a much shorter show.
wtf was that screaming guy lol, the Kyoshi sequence was also really cool in episode 5. I also like the extremely realistic dynamic of the two girls Katara and Toph not being able to get along and being very mean to each other. Toph is a great addition though, really like her. Perfect sassy blind midget girl. And the constant blind jokes are hilarious.
I'm also realizing that I slightly dislike Aang as a protagonist. I would like if he matured a bit more as the journey went on. None of the male characters are very likeable except the fire nation uncle now that I think about it. Jet is also annoying. He's barely present but he is only made to add anxiety to Aang and Katara's relationship. Probably some bs feminist message on a "females journey of self discovery" using woke terms. Just comes off as cucking Aang like this is a South Korean drama. Can tell the idea came from a woman also because mediocre women fantasize about guys fighting over them. One other way you can tell it is from a woman is because Jet is a "freedom fighter* which women think is a man who is attractive and masculine like right wing men, but stands up for liberal ideals instead.
Anyway, I am just going to pretend Jet does not exist, because it is literally impossible to watch any western show without strategically ignoring all the woke garbage. He is also horribly written and so is his relationship with Katara, which could could not exist and have 0 impact on the show. It would literally be as easy as erasing a few lines and they would have close to no connection at all actually.
And Sokka also moved on awfully quick from Yue. Maybe the writers just have no idea how to write romance or something. That bothers me less though because he is a meme character that does nothing but look stupid.
I can also clearly tell that had trouble with Nickelodeon's censors. Would have been a better show if they had been allowed more freedom.
9/10 A little too much filler, especially in the middle part. There is also a very small amount of feminist messaging. And interesting how the arranged marriage at the end with Yue is only shown as distressing for the female, and the groom (apparently the only White water tribe member in existence, what a coincidence) is just an asshole. Also Katara suddenly becomes extremely talented at the end when she wasn't the entire show, that was not explained very well. And Aang is insulted at the end too by the water master just to tear him down so they could elevate Katara. Yue and Sokka's romance also happens way too fast and is not impactful.
Great show but the Fandom/Wiki has to be completely ignored because retcons and additions to the story via the fanfiction-tier new show Korra, the extras, books, etc. are all insanely woke and disgusting and it all shows up there even if it was not in the original show (it mostly isn't). So the Fandom page in unfortunately completely useless.
I could have coped with a lot of the woke stuff, but the one thing I cannot get over is that the creators obviously support the genocide of White people. The buff black queen murders a beautiful White princess, which we are to assume she does frequently, and we are somehow meant to sympathize with her. Are you joking? Are you actually kidding me? That would never fly if the victim was any race except White.
7/10 the war in Xadia was very underwhelming and extremely rushed. Stopping that army could have been a season on its own but they ruined it. And where/why did the other human army even fight for Xadia? Why did the other armies not conquer that kingdom before going to Xadia so they had even more soldiers? Makes no sense at all. I enjoyed the relationship progress of Callum and Rayla though.
Gay elves was not necessary. And lol at the moralistic black kid king being so incompetent he gets imprisoned on like his first day. Also Callum is being sidelined hard in favor of other characters which is an issue since he is meant to be the protagonist. He is meant to have power but literally never uses it. And nobody ever dies which makes this feel very low stakes. Not even the animals like that stupid frog ever die.
Rating this pretending episode 5 and 6 don't exist since they were filler anyway. 9/10.
So... king Harrow betrayed his own people by sharing food they didn't have, causing a famine, and that somehow didn't cause a revolt, or a questioning of his rule, or anything of the sort (and according to the show this moral compass makes him a good leader, lmao)? And then they found a solution by killing a huge monster and his moron wife has an issue with it? Genuinely baffling writing in episode 5 and 6, not to mention the lesbian queens that somehow had a lesbian baby, literally what. Up until that point the only real issue I had was how stupid and useless male character are portrayed but that was minor. The psychology of liberals is hilarious. Also the little girl queen was annoying. The genius child leader trope is cringy as hell.
Viren is the good guy trying to stand up for his people who were forcefully evicted from their home. He is doing everything he can for his people. In a sane society this guy is the hero standing up to cowards. He should have conquered the other 4 human kingdoms and united the continent for war.
The main reason I'm rating this so high is because the dialogue is extremely good. I really love Rayla's character. That Pitallest joke in the last episode made me laugh so I'm giving it a 9. Why not. I really enjoyed this show despite the annougness. Probably more like an 8 if I ever decide to change the score. Also seeing some complaints about the animation but I think it is good.
Really tired of medieval kingdoms being portrayed as insanely diverse (curiously only with blacks, no asians, indians, or any other races but blacks) and progressive with homosexual characters and all that. Also of course the black king is a great guy and the white guy and his family are evil. Truly shocking, Definitely a coincidence. Also most of the ridiculous crap that I mention below is at the start, and the end is mostly devoid of it.
Rayla and Callum have a great dynamic though. The female characters are written well (Claudia) which is really surprising considering how woke everything else is.
I didn't like the anti-religious, racial, and gender preaching. Especially the black girl. It also portrays chess guys pretty negatively at first when they are largely very respectful. Then she becomes extremely promiscuous starting with a communist hippie. She's also a degenerate alcoholic drug addict. Everything is grey and depressing when she is in a religious institution but now it's all colorful that she is a drug addiced hooker. Liberal ideology in a nutshell. Now on episode 5 we have anti-motherhood propaganda with a bunch of booze under her old schoolmates baby stroller. Her character arc sucks/is non existent. Poorly written, woke messaging.
The chess itself is also mediocre. There is not enough of it, a strategy of all attack doesn't work against GM's and is very outdated, they do not talk or look at each other during the game, and draws are much more common than portrayed, she cannot just play on intuition - memory will always be required.
Threw in the towel at the last episode (7) and just skimmed through it. The black woman was throwing out racial slurs to her supposed friend.
I unfortunately did watch this entire TV show.
The only reason I am even adding this show is because I liked the part where he got home after being missing for so long.
I remember it being pretty good except episodes 4 and 5 which were super woke.
Sort of liked it I think.
Pretty sure I only watched the first season. I accidently marked the others watched. Doesn't really matter since this show is stupid.
2/10 because the premise was interesting.
4/10 estimate. The show went nowhere after a strong start.
First 4 seasons were really good from what I remember so I'll give it a 5 since the tail end was not good.
