Good premise, but poorly followed through.
In a world where people in power know your every move, how did this guy figure he could get away.. and accomplish a half-asses scheme?
Way too many stupid things going on to make this even remotely feasible. Not only that - one minute he's driving a Honda, the next a VW.. is no one paying attention when they make these movies?
I know that there is no such thing as "objective" reviews. But I have to admit that my rating for this "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reunion special is as far from objective as it gets. The 30-year-old series was really captured perfectly here: the acting is just as lousy as it was back then, the cinematography is also atrocious, and the dialogue is way too cheesy. But that's exactly what I expect from a special like this. I was a huge fan of the Power Rangers as a kid (until "In Space"), so I'm right in the target audience for this. Everyone else will surely only shake their heads in confusion, but I even shed a tear or two during the 55 minutes, especially at the end. Only the absence of a few key characters from the program is disappointing. At the very least, Bulk and Skull should have been present. Nonetheless, "Once & Always" is a must-see for MMPR fans.
Was it amazing? No. Was the acting good? No. Did I love absolutely every bit of it? Yes! It was a pure nostalgia trip. Made me feel like a kid again. Absolutely fun and loved it.
