Those zombies in the opening. Those eyes. A hint? One walker definitely seemed to not be following the herd.
This episode was really well shot with rich Gothic atmosphere to milk the tension for all it was worth.
Trying to stay spoiler free here... I love the later Texas Chainsaw reveal. The twist death was a nice shock and great way to kickstart the Whisperer War. It had me yelling at the screen like all the best horror movies do.
I like the mystery of what happened to the communities during the time gap.
And then there's Negan.
I'm psyched to see what happens next. There's so many interesting new elements to explore.
Why not cast Grant Gustin for the part? He is definitely the greatest Barry Allen ever, and a great young actor!
Edit 2022: OK, Ezra, move aside, it's Grant's turn!
I do not deny Ezra was good too, and that the last seasons of Flash have been week sauce (I do agree that most baddies are converted to good after a nice speech, nonetheless I'll keep watching it till the end, I'm that kind of viewer...), but Grant is an established Flash, great actor and apparently a calmer human being than Ezra at the moment. :P
Sorry, I'm team Grant! :)
When I first heard the news that my favorite Neil Gaiman comic was set to premiere as a TV show, I was delighted. Later, I found out it was on FOX, and like those damned souls entering hell, I've lost all my hopes already. FOX has messed up/cancelled all the shows that I got to like in their programming. Every one of them. The change in showrunner isn't a good sign, and demoting Tom Kapinos (the series creator and main writer) is a bad move to begin with (please, he wrote the damn pilot they greenlit!). I'm sure FOX will cancel this series after the 10 episodes commitment, and call it "an event mini-series". This show belongs to Netflix, in both scope and theme. I loved the pilot (the nod to David Bowie made me smile), please sell it to Netflix!.
There wasn't much marketing for it outside of DC Universe website. i totally forgot about the show until stumbling across it on some streaming site.
Since Titans introduced Doom Patrol to the series, I wanted more information on them, so this was good starting point for the series.
Damn. That opening?! Great on a few different levels.
Carol strikes a match. So good! Protective of her cub, just a bit. Nice arc from her intro as battered wife in season 1, who couldn't even protect herself.
Michonne looks to be a protective mama bear too. Nice surprise reveal of Grimes Jr.
The Eugene and Rosita scenes were intense. Negan also had a moment to shine with a parallel metaphor, making him a dog. Foreboding foreshadowing in both scenarios.
Strong episode overall. Compelling story developments and intense thrills. I'm excited for this new chapter of TWD and the oncoming Whisperer War.
Another boring episode that only gets exciting towards end when Dembe and Reddington shows up.
Almost everyone thats a fan of this show or was a fan, is tired of Elizabeth and want this bitch gone but the writers continue to keep the character alive for some annoying reason.
My patience is really wearing thin with this show. Too many characters, none of them especially likable, very slow to develop...
More questions than answers can be captivating, but c'mon guys you have to give us something! It's been five episodes and we know absolutely nothing than the we did at the conclusion of the first!
Apparently Ressler knows Red better than Liz
Dembe keeping Liz's secret makes no sense- there's no incentive for him to keep it from Red much less lie. I guess he's trying to save him the heartbreak? Sheesh. I want Red to find out soon.
If you like Spader - this is a must watch. Personally i think this is one of his best works and excellent TV drama!
Why do billionaires in tv land always want to adopt children or raise their children to become crime fighters? lol
Some random Witch yells Tramp during the court scene. Really? Haha.
By the way, I feel like the script for Sabrina was initially written for an older actress. Does anyone else feel the same?
I'm not a homophobe, but damn, I'm getting a little tired of seeing gay scenes in almost every tv show and movie.
Umm...
Who cleans glass or in this case a glass door with a scrub brush?
Overall, another good episode for the season. The timejump is keeping things fresh. I'm liking how the communities have evolved.
Early on, I thought the dog killed a trespassing walker, then Daryl hints that he did it and fed his buddy. Ha!
Hilltop and Old Ricktown are looking like medieval times. Will the upcoming celebration be a Renaisance Fair? Hehehe. Carol looks like Robin Hood. By the way, did she tie up the dog to help her son learn under pressure yet in a controlled environment.
I loved the concept behind the art and neanderthal speech.
Looks like Eugene might be with the watcher in the woods. Have the zombies evolved? Or is there another group spying on our heroes?
No spoilers from comics here. But. I'm looking forward to what comes next. I'm guessing they'll tease it at the fair in the next episode / midseason finale.
Any theories? Any thoughts? Any favorite survivors? Do you want more Judith? Til next time.
WTF!!! Did the dead just talk?! so surprising!!!
Grant Gustin should have been given the role of Barry. I mean, he's doing a wonderful job on the show and is a terrific actor. Why create this huge chasm between the TV and cinematic universe by casting different actors for the same character, when there's already a great Barry that everyone loves?
Whoaa.. I didn’t see that coming at all. DAAAMNNN HELEN!
The idea was good, but this is verry poor made. When is it made 1985 with a commedore 64? :disappointed_relieved:
The gun battle has to be the dumbest gun battle in the history to on TV gun battles. He gets shot yet gets up. He's surrounded by 4 people with fully automatic weapons, yet hardly any bullets hit him. Dumb Dumb Dumb.
I hope they don't make another season of this show...it's gone downhill.
What about all that stuff God said about balance and light, a threat to the world order if God dies? I suppose Jack will take his place?
Stupid movie...give it 3 stars for the entertainment for about 15 minutes...Beyond that it's a waste of 120 mins of you life you will never get back. A lot of people writing a thesis as a review on here about this & that but let me tell you it's a crap movie. Sure you will enjoy bits of it, which will amount to about 15 mins of total entertainment. Beyond that you're better off watching paint dry for 120 minutes.
Great episode.
Nice contrast of colors in the fight scene by the Impala.
I thought Mary was being unusually naive by not being more careful about what she said to Jack.
It would be kind of cool to see God again.
Casting Patty from Goliath was an odd choice. I don't feel like she and Axe gelled as intended.
Wendy wanting to be the sub for a while- I didn't see that coming but it makes total sense.
Taylor went to the dark side a while ago, but I'm really only now ascertaining just how far s/he will go. S/he used to sometimes think about things like ethics but now that no longer matters to him/her. Mcfee will probably turn against s/he in the end.
Nothing funnier than a cursing Brendan Fraser. Wish he cursed in everything he was ever in, now.
OMG, this show as become an unbearable and excruciating chore.
Raymond better not be Katarina. It feels like that's where this is going. I hope it's just a misleading ploy to make the people who believe it to believe it more.
Was anyone else like.. "Get away from Liz, Dembe! She's gonna stab you!" Cuz that's what I thought might happen at the end.
Lots of Boston Legal feels in the courtroom scenes. I was gutted when Glenn didn't get on that jury, though.
Somehow, I always found Zach entertaining. He's too damn dumb to not chuckle a bit whenever he's around. Rajesh's story, on the other hand, is getting quite tiresome. But I guess everything in this show that envolves relationships has been getting tiresome for quite some seasons. Heck, for me, that's the one thing that ruined this show.
You fucked up, Rachel. I bet Gar didn't even need Trigon's help. It was probably just his beast side or tiger making him sick or something. The season finale is going to be great.
