The Acolyte

Not the best Star Wars series, certainly not, but not the worst either. Some characters are interesting, the battles are decent, and it at least tries to tell a story. On the other hand, the music fails, it repeats a lot (a couple of episodes could be cut) and there is less budget than in Mandalorian.

In short, better than Obi-Wan and The Book of Boba Fett. Although the bar is very low.

X-Men '97

It's a good series. It doesn't do anything special, but it maintains the quality of the original, and that's already much more than what the current Marvel offers.

I know that it is considered cult, but at least watching the season now I have the feeling that it does not reveal its full potential. It doesn't seem like a great fantasy story, or a mecha story, or a romantic one. It has all this, but also many clichés, villains who change sides easily and a story that is too long for what it tells.

Yoko Kanno's music is fantastic, that's true. One of the best soundtracks in anime.

Secret Invasion

Monotonous, inconsequential, boring. Not what the MCU needed right now to raise interest after a whole completely forgettable phase.

Bubblegum Crisis

A classic sci-fi anime, although I have to admit that it goes from better to worse. The first episodes surprised me positively, but the final stretch drops the level and I lost a bit of interest.

In any case, it deserves attention for any fan of the genre.

A.D. Police Files

Classic cyberpunk anime with a 80s vibe (although it premiered in 1990). Only three episodes but worth watching.

Junji Ito Collection

Short films of varying quality, although some are really good. It's a shame that only loose chapters are extracted from Tommie without much context instead of adapting the entire manga (which would take a full season).

Serial Experiments Lain

It's considered a classic, and it has interesting ideas typical of the genre. It probably didn't influence The Matrix because it was released so soon before, but there are some similarities.

I haven't enjoyed it as much as I expected because the pace is too slow and I think it tries to be unnecessarily confusing. I prefer Ghost in the Shell, which deals with similar themes but in a more successful way.

At least you can watch Serial Experiments Lain in a couple of days.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

A curious series, which was famous at the time, but I don't consider it a classic. And I skipped the endless summer trolling completely.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Probably the worst Star Wars product I've ever seen, although Disney sure is trying hard to lower the bar.

The good old Masamune Shirow. Action, humor and adventure. I love the atmosphere of this anime, they don't make series like this anymore.

DNA²

I love other works by Masakazu Katsura, such as I"s or Video Girl Ai, but DNA2 is undoubtedly inferior to the rest. It tries to repeat the love triangle without success, there is no drama and the fantasy part does not fit well. I guess the manga is prettier thanks to Katsura's art, but the anime is only for very fans of the author.

Invincible

A series that goes from less to more. The animation was a little weird at first and there's some inconsistency in the scale of powers, but it's fun and leaves you wanting to see how it will continue.

Disenchantment

No good comedy, no good adventures. Has no focus on anything. Passable at best.
