Someone call Mr Scorsese & tell him that Cinema is very much alive & kicking.
It's him, it's the thing! It's the Slickeen! :sob:
My biggest problem with this trilogy is that they took the engaging cute fairytale you can read in a day and turned it into three looooong movies thus ruining the whole magic and atmosphere
Honestly, the hallucinatory, slightly psychedelic structure of this episode gives the phrase "the trip of a lifetime" a whole new meaning.
This is the absolute precise and realistic portrayal of mental health problems by the way.
So, if you find it disturbing, exhausting, uncomfortable, whatever - that's exactly the experience of the person who goes through something like that. It's never pretty. Mental health problems aren't some fun adventure as you can see.
Basically, it's like Xena Warrior Princess meets The Dark Crystal with a dash of Discworld-ish humor.
Long story short:
A troll burned his bridge. A warrior lost her crown. I'm not being poetic. That's literally what went down!
Oh my. That 'H' reveal. Who could've thought that
It's been AgatHa, it's been AgatHa all along.
And she killed Sparky too!
Wow seems like Selina Meyer is Madame Hydra. That's one hell of a promotion :speak_no_evil:
This is basically like Person of Interest minus The Machine/Samaritan shenanigans.
Don't know if it's because I'm nostalgic but I'm liking it so far.
Oh look it's Lionel Fusco from Person of Interest.
Next time The Doctor decides to choose a face, they should consider honouring Idris. Suranne was born to play The Doctor-like roles.
Donna: :point_right:It's me!:point_left:
The Doctor: Yeah, I can see that. :face_with_monocle:
ICONIC
Can't believe this episode is 15 years old today. Happy Birthday, sweetie.
To roughly summarize it:
Everything you think you know baby
Is wrong
And everything you think you had baby
Is gone
Alexa, play Xena: Warrior Princess
All jokes aside, this is rather enjoyable, occasionally very funny, lighthearted show with a very charismatic lead and good supporting cast
I really love how she says, "...and I'm a wolf tonight". The best thing about this series as a whole.
With all its flaws though, series 1 is miles better than series 2- the writing for the latter was a bloated mess. Still, kudos to Suranne for holding the show together somehow.
Let's face it - it's just not the same without BENNI :disappointed:
Okay, kids. 'Twas a good episode, a step up from previous series: fast paced, very Doctor Who-y, with a twisty little twist at the end but still.. maybe it's just me but it felt somewhat... empty? I don't know it's like something is missing and I can't understand what exactly.
