The best thing about this franchise is that each installment is so forgettable that you can watch any of them over again and it still feels like the first time.
Comedy? You mean there's supposed to be humour in this? ... Uh. Okay then. Can't tell where, but whatever.
The acting is solid, although I'm not sure it's enough to carry the movie as a whole on its back. In trying to offer criticism, I think it ends up being just like the thing it criticises: cold, obsessive, and indeed in Margot's very own words: "fancy, deconstructed avant-bullshit". After which we are left hungry, too, because despite all the display, there isn't much substance to it at all.
i'm still a bit confused by a lot of it
if it was all a simulation, then how exactly did their bodies survive in the real world? were they hooked up to some kind of feeding tubes?
how could frank not know where these people were physically? wouldn't it be an insane risk not to find that out just in case?
why did the cover story for the men's jobs have to be so mysterious as to arouse curiosity? wouldn't it have been easier to come up with a more mundane lie to explain what they do for a living and why it's dangerous to go there? like, i dunno, radiation or something?
why did they make it so easy to exit the simulation? one just had to be curious enough to wander into the forbidden zone and touch this building - why didn't they put it further away from the town or hide it in a cave or at least build a fence around it?
what was the deal with the airplane? why did alice see it?
why did they care whether she took her pills in the simulation, when jack could just inject her with anything in real life?
This film could have been BEAUTIFUL! But the script was all over the place, the pacing was too slow and then too fast.
While watching it, it gave me the impression of a well loved but too rushed project.
Not enough ghosts and too many whack jobs... The story was the real problem here. While it always kept us guessing, the only real suspense was if there would be any suspense [spoiler alert: there wasn't]. Shame really, it was a waste of decent cinematography.
i don't really understand why this film is so popular - it's not bad and the fight scenes are enjoyable, but i don't think the plot really goes anywhere. it's quite obvious that bourne is some sort of spy/assassin from early on and there's not much development from there. none of the other characters are interesting in any way including the woman and their relationship with each other, the climax is hardly climactic, no comic relief throughout the whole movie, don't feel that it had any sort of message, etc etc.
im sorry but i put my email and everything in but i still have no clue how/ why i cant actually watch the whole movie??? please help
i don't think people realize that the movies that netflix gets the rights to are movies that often don't get to the point of premiering. these are things that would end up in development or premiere hell, a lot of times. so yeah, the casts are great and the movies are usually subpar. i think anyone going into watching a movie that netflix bought the rights to needs to go in with the mindset of it being a b movie regardless of the actors that feature in it.
at least that's my personal rule, and as a result this is one of the better netflix exclusives. the acting was great, all things considered. i will say that it dragged on at certain points and the solution to the problem was pretty obvious from the start, but as someone who's had insomnia since she was four years old, i could FEEL the delirious paranoia. if you've never had sleeping issues before, this probably will feel pointless and boring. if you have, you'll feel the dread and stress the actors are putting out, trust me.
