Watched this for the first time with my wife who absolutely loved it as a kid. The film lacks the necessary thrills for a decent halloween film, the humor for a comedy or the development for a drama. It's just a middling kids film. Great if you are a kid...not so much for adults. We both agreed not to watch it again. There are just too many great halloween flix for this to make it on the annual watchlist.
Can’t believe that it was deemed exceptable back then to treat a wife like that. He knocks her about all over the place and it’s all ok and laughed off! Weird.
Although (I am sure) lots of things slipped my understanding firstly because I am white and secondly because I am European, I believe that shows like this one are extremely necessary for understanding others, changing ourselves and making society a better place.
The fact that Dear White People has such a low rating proves the point of the whole show
I like a little live music, but at this point I'm starting to skip it cause it feels more like filler than anything else. Like, yeah, the music is cool and everything, but get on with the story already!
Claire and Jamie are supposed to be 20 years older, so she's 50 and he's around 45/6. I'm a bit disappointed that makeup did not try to age them a bit more than to just give her one easily hidden grey streak of heir and him… glasses…
