If you watched the trailer and thought “this looks kinda bad” then you my friend would be correct. Sadly it was in the cards that this movie would be bad. Yet I still wanted to indulge myself. Movie felt like something that could’ve been on Netflix. On a positive the monsters were creative and well designed.
The potential it had with the variety of different villains. The potential it had with connecting with an audience and the potential it had with genuine horror and gore. All wasted. The villains were wasted because we barely got a glimpse of them, especially with the dim lit sets. They also lost half the audience by not including them. I ended up forgetting the start by the end, which made me question life itself. The horror started off alright but immediately stooped to below average, especially with the 15 certificate. The cast was forgettable, and the script tried too hard to be gen z.
May be it was somewhat of a unique story at the time of release but it's predictable for new watchers today.
Overrated to be honest. The reactions are unnatural (even when you know the story beforehand). The story ends abruptly. It leaves you hanging because you’ll be expecting something more but you’ll be hit with the end credits instead.
It’s ok for a time travel film, but there are other films that do the concept better in my eyes. I felt a lot of the time I was not believing that’s what someone in that position would “do”.
For example with Hector 1 randomly breaking in to the building rather than going home to call the police. Or when he’s “surprised” he accidentally killed his wife in his own house. Who else are you expecting to be in there??
Not a bad watch, but definitely better out there.
Oh Samuel L Jackson what on earth is this tragic film, this is a demonstration on how not to end a film.
Was looking forward to this movie , what a big let down
that's how this movie left me, (brain) damaged
Dan and Dave have once again managed to ruin another franchise. This is a woke Netflix adaptation with nonsensical gender swaps, interracial relationships, and current-day politics. If that isn’t off-putting enough, Dan and Dave deliver immersion-breaking dialogue littered with swear words and overall lazy writing, reminiscent of the final seasons of Game of Thrones. It’s unfaithful to the books, rushed, simplified, and dumbed down to the lowest common denominator. While a casual Netflix audience might enjoy this, being accustomed to mediocrity, I recommend sticking with the books or watching the Chinese (Tencent) adaptation.
How to put it all into words. Dumb characters. Weak acting. Disappointing story. Plenty of Butts. Why?
Ok at first, then great (for like one scene).. then so meh I do not give a shit if they cancel this.
Recognizing a terror organization as symbol of hope is just pathetic. Once again Netlifx doesnt surprise with its production stupidity. Apart from that it is an interesting sci-fi to watch with a good cast.
i would feel a total retard giving this movie more than a 1 star.... so that's what my rating is.
I'm beginning to question my sanity with the reviews, the ratings of 8 and 9 the 95%(!!) of fresh stupid tomato thing.
What a cluster f* was this movie. Extraordinary uninteresting and boring.
Slow and completely pointless. I don't hate foreign cinema and nice thrillers but here we have a miracle of meaningless story that keeps dragging with stupidity not to mention the ending. It is like, ok we have nothing else to show let's cut.
My God do not see this movie!
Wow, that was weird. Looks and feels so bizarre and Nic Cage has the perfect face for the role. His acting was phenomenal too, I think one of his best performances.
Nicolas Cage is the perfect meme person for this movie.
its sad how he had almost everything in his life and one day ppl woke up deciding to dream abt him and ruined his life
Was legit scared I will dream of Nicolas Cage after watching this movie Enjoyed it!
One of the last wholesome shows on TV. What the hell has this world come to?
I really liked the concept, but the writing is pretty bad and some of the acting is pretty over- the- top.
The submarine crew is a bunch of incompetent, undisciplined boobs.
I barely finished the first episode, horrible acting, extremely bad dialogues and a script that is bad. "Into the Night" was way better.
this was a big let down compared to Into the Night !! but since you need to watch this to complete the series just skim it over.!!
its wonderfully set for a S3 and S4 perhaps of Into the Night !!
Netflix literally just copying and pasting shows now. Just watch Into the Night for an identical story but with better acting.
This movie shouldn’t exist. Fuck you hollywood. The last three movies from the original series fucking suck. Why not throw some dumb ass prequel into the mix. Again, fuck you hollywood. I will not watch this
M. Night Shyamalan would be proud of this. Well made, tension building and a pointless naff ending. Especially disappointing after 140 minutes
Another not so subtle wokeish pile of crap from Netflix. The premise promised so much, and yet the movie delivers so little. I literally knew the moment I saw the weird daughter that the last shot of the film would be her face. Anti white, anti government, anti men, ultimately leads to anti… itself.
In short:
Racist crap.
Weird.
Senseless.
The movie is so ridiculously empty, it’s obviously just to promote race baiting bs.
It seems to be very popular in Hollywood. In almost every production these days there are derogatory remarks towards white people.
Racism is a constant theme.
Having been a die-hard fan of the video games I have high hopes (but low expectations) that this show will be awesome! I felt Silo had a very Fallout feel to them and if this is at least as good as Silo has been then this will be a winner!
