The Bear: 3x01 Tomorrow

Worst opening scene in TV history. It is so slow and the pacing so bad that I fell asleep two times. I enjoyed the first season, but this is just nonsense. Overloaded with images of food and symbolism.

Oh, and when I thought the opening scene is finally over, I realized that was the whole episode. What a joke.

The show is ok, a lot of yelling and stress. I think it’s terribly Overrated.

The Spiderwick Chronicles

While most of the cast struggles to convey the depth of their characters, Mychala Lee's portrayal stands out for its glaring inability to authentically depict even the most fundamental emotions required for her role. This critical shortcoming undermines the show's potential, leaving much to be desired for fans of the original work.

I recommend The Magicians instead.

The Spanish Princess

The costumes in this TV show are a standout feature, adding a layer of visual interest to the production. While the show is watchable and has its moments, it ultimately falls short due to its lack of excitement and reliance on predictable plot devices.
The performances of the cast, including Charlotte Hopes, are inconsistent, with some strong moments but also some disappointing ones.

Despite its positive elements, the show fails to leave a lasting impression.

A Murder at the End of the World

The main character of the show is unbelievably skilled, to the point of being implausible. She is only 25 years old, yet she is proficient in pathology, forensics, hacking, and is also a renowned crime author. This casting choice is misguided, as an actress with a more impressive resume might have been better suited to portray such an extraordinary character.
Additionally, the pacing of the show is poor and fails to keep the viewer engaged. The frequent jumps in time are jarring and do not contribute to the overall narrative. Overall, the show struggled to maintain my interest.

American Horror Stories: 3x04 Organ

Imagine Beau is afraid but Beau is just a shallow, entitled, horny prick.
Then sprinkle some crimes of the future on top.
Leave the good parts out of course.

I’m sure I missed other elements they have stolen.
Did anybody spot more?

American Horror Story: Season 12

Numerous times, I found myself believing that 'AHS' had hit rock bottom, but it manages to keep unearthing new depths.

I was once a devoted fan, but now... Kim Kardashian discussing a viral TikTok salad dressing known as 'green goddess,' seriously? Even the most trivial chatter nauseates me.

It's alarmingly vacant, sluggish, and utterly devoid of the chills and thrills that horror should deliver.

Very good first season. Loved it.
Sadly it degrades to fantasy gibberish with jedi mind tricks.

I usually refrain from giving harsh reviews.
But this was utter garbage.

Promising show. Very dense and the story holds.

But seriously. Do you think Nicole Kidman can still feel her face?
Rude? Maybe.
But, I found her to be particularly vexing.

Daddy abuses his children for 4 seasons. Not sure why people compare this to game of thrones.

When you reached season 3 you heard the title melody for 99 times. Not a testament to a great soundtrack.

Terribly overrated but not bad.

Men

If you're seeking a deliberately-paced horror film, this might cater to your preferences. With an abundance of symbolism and a notable emphasis on misandry, it caters to those who appreciate such elements.

Critiques targeting men have been prevalent in contemporary discussions, and this film continues that trend. It perpetuates the notion that all men are inherently evil, contributing to a larger societal narrative influenced by the MeToo movement.

As a decent man who has never inflicted harm on others, this movie left me frustrated. While it could have been a thought-provoking piece of art, its overtly obnoxious and tedious execution hindered its potential.

I would rate this film 3/10 due to its commendable acting and technical craftsmanship.

Beau Is Afraid

Since no one has mentioned it before, I find it quite challenging to watch this movie for the first time. When the film ended, I sat for a while, attempting to piece everything together. Subsequently, I decided to watch it again, and now, a week later, I'm in the midst of my third viewing. Each time I watch it, I uncover new horrors and torments in different scenes.

The movie boasts an immense density of information. Beau's psychosis is portrayed with astonishing realism. For those who have never experienced profound anxiety or lived through a psychosis, it may be difficult to grasp just how brilliantly it is depicted. The mother's influence permeates every aspect of Beau's life; he can never escape it.

Joaquin is brilliant as usual.

In my opinion, this film is a true masterpiece.

Bill Hader was the UPS guy that found the Corpse! Was Barry Berkman involved!?! :joy:

Acting is always a bit better in limited series. But, Oh boy this cast is blowing up. Elisabeth, Jessie and Lily have some intense scenes. Makes it a real pleasant watch. Easy to catch the nuances. Great directing too. You get a very good sense of this little community and what it means to be „good“ and suffer the Human condition.

Scream VI

The overacting. The Dialogue. The Script????
So Cringe.

“Someone took our all our knives :knife:!”
Is used as an explanation why three adults can’t fight of one average build person with a knife.
I bet no one even proof read the script. It’s full shit like this.

Most of the actors do a terrible job. But what the f is with Jasmin Savoy Brown. I guess this is partly the fault of the horrible script, but jeezz poster-child of overacting.

The “Meta” self referential bullshit is so overused. “The franchise” needs to die.
It didn’t work in the last movie, and it did not work this time.

If you want shivers, go, check out Ari Aster. Skip this garbage. :wastebasket:

Very entertaining western. The cast works well. Funny, dark, cool. The pacing in the second part of the movie is snappy.

Btw. John Wick is more like action dancing. This is a western.
It is just the same trope.

Im excited for the next Ti West movies.

Poor Michael Madsen.
Hard to watch at times.
In one shot, he jumps on top of a car to wave his gun around.

The movie aged absolutely horrible.
The script makes rarely sense.

Oh boy. John Duttons Character is so determined to the old ways. It’s stupid. At one point he said:
Only two ways to run a Ranch.
Horse or Cow.

I really want to show this guy how we do agriculture in Europe. It’s ridiculous: all this land wasting away so this patriarch can keep living in the past.
Btw. a trained Shepherd dog is much more effective than those wannabe cowboy clowns.

If you’re into shallow cowboy wannabes you can turn off your brain and check out some horsies.

Some good acting below all that cheesy posing.

The cast is excellent and the budget enormous.
I personally like most of the actors. I have seen a lot
of this genre.

There a few good Moments. Don’t expect clever writing. The character relationships are really odd. But the focus is on the action.

I guess you have to compare it to the newer Mission Impossible movies. Or maybe John Wick.
Compared to those it’s a snooze fest.
