A very sincere and sensitive movie that fortunately exists in this world, that deconstruct the archetype of men and black men, showing what it is to truly be there for the ones you love, no matter what, and reconnects the nurturing and caring side that every man has (and should cultivate within). The acting is so organic to a point where you see your own stories of family and experiences in life and it touches sensitive aspects of self as of being a part of a family.
The camera shoots mostly open, steady shots, always giving space for connection to happen while you sit as an expectador, as of seeing a theatrical piece (this movie is an adaptation of a theatrical play), and every actor knows how to use the space they have and add deeper meaning beyond your typical screenwrite tropes for relationships, as well as it knows, mostly, when to use close-ups to generate links to each character’s inner space.
