The only reason I managed to watch this movie until the end was Leonardo DiCaprio. Amazing perfomance from an amazing actor. None of the other actors stand out (except perhaps Edgerton), and Maguire was terrible.
But the worst thing about this movie is, by far, its score: I felt literally disgusted by it. And it was not only because the (bad) artists who participated in it, but also and mainly because it has nothing to do with the 20s era; it fails to transmit the Jazz hype that period had. I can not understand how modern-era music can help the viewers to connect with Gatsby's parties' emotions. It just feels so unreal, so unnatural, so fake.
The book adaption itself is not bad, it actually sticks with the original story... But it is not enough to make it a good movie. I'll try to remember Baz Luhrmann's name so to avoid any of his other films.
"Our starship is in trouble"
GOLD!
I love Carl's evolution, he is easily one of the best characters of the season so far!
Tony's coming out was so funny!
Best episode of the season so far!
This just keeps getting better!
Not as bad as everyone says but not that good either. Margot was terrific!
Although he's probably in so much trouble, I'm really liking Lip this season. At least he appears to want to stop drinking, so I hope he gets on with it. Frank is also changing, let's see if it's permanent or not. Great episode!
I don't think Allison's makeover is what makes Andy interested in her, as he was looking at her in a quite interested way just before Claire changed her looks. The coupling was unnecessary because they could all just stay friends, but I think the decision was to put on movie what the future would probably look like - that is, unless they made a "the next Monday" scene, there was no easy way to convey the idea that they would stay friends.
"Artoo is more than a droid - he's a friend"
- Anakin Skywalker
A surprisingly nice movie. Loved the multiple recording studio bits!
This was a great series finale, I didn't remember how good was this show until I rewatched
Jennifer and David's chemistry is so great, especially right before their characters' first kiss
Good movie, worth the watch. Like already said, if you're looking for a love-relationship film, this isn't it; 'Handsome Devil' focus on the values of friendship and companionship, centered in a seemingly homophobic school which has to eventually lead with its homosexual students. I'm sad it lacks any Smiths' tracks, considering its title, but it's a nice watch nonetheless!
Fantastic perfomance by Ewan McGregor!
What a fucking great episode!
Absolutely loved this movie. With four solid movies, Toy Story is by far the best animation saga ever imo
I think this season is one of the best seasons ever... I can't wait for the next one!!
The moment when Debbie gave her daughter's name was so emotional and fantastic... I still think the baby is not good for her, but at least she's doing everything she can to actually be a great mother and shut up those against her.
This season is one of the best seasons ever.
Tom Hardy was really, really incredible, but Leonardo was magnificent. Astonishing perfomance!
This season has started pretty well!
The show wasn't cancelled, this mini-series resumes the book trilogy in one season only, so it was always planned to have one and only one season.
Don't know why the comments here are so negative, I really enjoyed this movie.
Epic acting performances and a really smart film direction, production and editing, topped with an amazing soundtrack.
The sequence with the dean's costumes was amazing
Shirley made me laugh so much with her "HERE'S BROWNIE!!"
Cicero is such a snake
I absolutely love this movie. Great cast (amazing performance from Davies), great set and a very interesting story. I loved this movie so much I bought the book which the story was adapted from (and won an Oscar in the process). I've seen it in theaters 3 times already and it's always an amazing experience
As many times as I watch, it's impossible not to cry. Amazing movie, it's not your absolute best comedy but it has many great moments.
Nice documentary, although I find the lack of any Abbey Road references a bit disappointing
Probably my favourite Black Mirror episode. The main actors' chemistry is just amazing!
