Started off as a half decent action movie till the truly horrible third act.
Why would the government not help kill them under the ice, they were quick enough to believe 'the future people'? Just so you can have your small group of outcasts save the world? Why go through more than half of the movie to help 'the future people' and then barely use what you fought for, the toxin? Terrible writing.
I never thought they could make a 2 hour movie with Emma Stone in multiple sex scene's this bad, but they did.
Simply unbearable. A bad combo of concepts from previous works of fiction. Decades into the future, fighting swats of primal creatures/aliens (go figure that contradiction), using foot soldiers and rudimentary weapons, really? "It's not a souvenir, it's a reminder" - who writes this bull?
Also, the part where Dan Forester meets the female colonel played by Yvonne, that was a cliché of epic proportions.
Main flaw though: too long for a mediocre film.
The opening sequence with the call center is the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. The second dumbest thing I've seen in a long time was the beekeeper's detonation device rigged to explode by the next call while he was standing with the bomb. How did he survive this long with such stupid devices?
Edit: I spoke way too soon. It just keeps getting dumber every minute. It's one of those movies. I'll try to shut up and enjoy the ride.

There are a lot of haters for this movie, mainly because of dissatisfaction with how the film ends...
And to be honest, the ending was a little open, but I don't think it mattered. You see, up until that point, I enjoyed the movie. The story didn't drag, and while it was never quite clear what 'the event' was or why it happened, I'm not sure that was essential to the film. It was more about the journey and the characters within, and their attempts to find clarity with chaos. Despite the occasional implausibility, the setup was more realistic than Hollywood's usual bombastic disaster flick, and that made for something quite refreshing. And as for the ending... well, I would have liked more, I would have liked more explanation, but its not a dealbreaker that it was, perhaps, a little underwhelming. As alluded, the journey is sometimes more important than the destination.
I mean this with the greatest of respect, but I feel like this is made for the generation of people currently on Twitter replying to all cinema posts with "sksksksk fr fr yasssssss we WILL be seated". It's an interesting twist on the high school, raunchy comedy with a gay twist, but nothing really comedically landed for me throughout the majority of this. I really did enjoy the soundtrack and aesthetic of the movie though, and the outtake sizzle reel at the end was great. Just alright, not to the heights that the internet would have you believe, but still decent enough.
He is the Beekeeper. That is an indisputable fact. Another typical action movie with Jason Statham in yet, yet also another good one.

There is a plot hole that kinda makes me grit my teeth; the mother got scammed and she immediately just kills herself rather than consulting her FBI cyber security daughter... uh... like why wouldn't she do that first before just saying "meh, time to off myself"
I don't think I've ever seen people get up in the middle of a movie and walk out in disgust before
So barring the ridiculous time travel plot holes and that for some reason no one thought of using explosive ammunition rounds/armor piercing round as a standard for the military when it’s obvious just how useless normal bullets are against these aliens. It was a fine sci-fi action movie. Enjoyable to watch the actual action parts, but right from the start it bugged me how illogical many parts of the movie are. Also that last part of the government not helping them was beyond dumb. In the end, just too many parts irk you along the way in such an obvious manner it’s not possible to fully enjoy the movie. Visually and acting wise it was well done however.
I went in with high hopes for this thinking it might be something like a bunch of oldies taking on demons in a bingo hall. No. It’s plot is so bad it barely makes sense. Someone will come out with some tosh that it is a reflection of the disintegration of established communities by hipster companies. Nope, it’s a really REALLY bad plot with terrible script, unfunny “jokes” and dull 2D characters. It so could so have been a fresh twist on a film like “From Dusk Till Dawn”. What a missed opportunity and what a waste of my time. Rating Boring as Hell.

Seriously, that was mean, but COME ON.... this felt like trolling. Nothing at all made even a tad of sense. Zero logic. There are so many things just terribly wrong with this I can't even be bothered to list them.
The only part that was good was the black side kick saying shit 50x's in a row. That was comedy gold right there.
Gay film run the other direction
Typical alien invasion movie.. a tiny bit better than the norm. One thing no movie ever addresses is - how did the freaky aliens' manage to build that spacecraft? How could they dig the mine that brought up the ore to smelt and shape into metal and then assemble?
This film is full of holes and questions that I can't believe SOMONE somewhere didn't ask - Why? How? and That makes no sense whatsoever!!
