This season is so shit... I'm only enduring it because it's the last one and I wanna finish the show but bloody hell I'm using the "skip 10s" button A LOT. It's like they want to preach about social issues every episode for no reason at all. If you know a little about football you know the football part was bad and unrealistic since the 1st season, but I ignored it because it was entertaining... well, now is tedious.
Jamie Tartt --> Jack Grealish
Zava --> Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The names even have the same initials!
The year is 2024, and I'm still not over Erwin's death.
Pieck can rot, I can't stand her. Besides her titan is even uglier than the monkey titan, plain repulsive.
The time skip between the past season and this one was too much, because now is difficult to know what the hell is going on with the characters. Like yeah Eren is in depressed-asshole mode right now but his own friends were talking about killing him and feeding him to someone episodes ago, wtf?? He got fucked up the moment he saw the past and probably the future, carrying the pain of several generations and all of that. And the eldians saying they should have peaceful solutions must be joking, they didn't get the memo that the rest of the world wants to exterminate them just because they exist.
Fuck the marleyans and the wannabe marleyans acting as their dogs, calling their own race demons, pathetic.
She sorta looked like Ymir, with the freckles and the tanned skin. And the titan was one of the followers of that made-up cult that got them all sent to the island.
I hate the stupid plot armour mistakes like not cutting Reiner into pieces when he was exposed. Otherwise cool episode.
bro what's up with the creepy sister-brother thing??? writers need some therapy jesus christ
It's boring, that's the problem. The Zone of Interest is completely uninteresting.
Scenery, wardrobe and all of that is very well done, which infuriates me because they could have done such an interesting film if they'd had shown the funcioning of Auschwitz. In that camp there were stories worth telling. Anyways, I regret having spent money in the cinema for this one.
Is it weird getting hungry while looking at that clay-cooked leg??
One of the few TV Shows that makes you cheer the moment an innocent bloke is murdered and brutally mutilated. Rest in pieces, Your Honour.
Homelander behaviour with Stillwell is so weird, I don't know if he wants to kill her or fuck her.
The film is decent but the book is way better. There are a lot of things in the book that the movie didn't include or things that were completely changed. Anyway, I recommend it to anyone interested.
I really liked that they showed the functioning of the gas chambers and the crematoriums. Many Holocaust movies shy away from gritty explicit representation and opt for an artistic shot of smoke or a generic portrayal of life in the camps. But this was the reality: floors flooded with naked unnamed corpses, people reduced to disposable meat being shoved systematically into ovens, the Jews of these kommandos were forced to be complicit with the crime even though they were victims themselves... My admiration for the director for not trying to make it look pretty.
The worst part was the casting of Henry Stram as Dr. Josef Mengele, such an awful choice that I had to check the list of actors and their roles in Wikipedia to know who tf that random SS Doctor was supposed to be. Henry Stram here was almost 50 and bald, being part of a tedious unremarkable scene. The real Josef Mengele was in his early 30s, with dark hair, impeccable appearance and cheerful personality despite the job he was conducting. In fact he made such an impression on the prisoners that after the liberation many described him as handsome. Here are some real pictures of him if anyone is interested: https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-b4539b21766d6b242dfa009a1dd573dd-pjlq and https://reibert.info/attachments/1-jpg.9427964/. So yeah, if they're representing real people it would be a bare minimun to have someone that resembles them...
I don't know how accurate the portrayal of their relationship is... but they made Anne look like a selfish annoying brat, which was completely unnecessary.
The girl visiting Holocaust places and posting pics with random hashtags on social media felt a bit weird and unnecessary. Otherwise a decent and interesting documentary.
It's so propagandistic and unrealistic that it takes you out of the film, they could have used so many reasonable scenarios to make the Russians look like the winners (because they literally were)... and yet they come up with this silliness. Wasted potential.
The maximum speed of that tank is around 50km/h, you could literally chase it with any normal vehicle and never lose sight of it. - Oh and forced romantic plot... of course! - And also of course the cliché "super evil nazi SS" villain with his "super evil nazi scars" and his "super evil nazi smirks"... But because the villain is the coolest character I'll forgive them for this one, him and the action shots were decent enough to make the movie enjoyable.
I mean... Heydrich wasn't bald but apart from that the actor playing him really looks the part.
Boring. Decent acting, decent narrative, cinematography and everything but... nothing happens. It's just boring, there's not other word to describe it.
Crappy movie... only recommended if, like me, you want to check every WW2 related film even if they are shit. The uniforms are horrendously inaccurate, as well as the duties and overall depiction of the female guards.
The only good thing was Mengele's portrayal, because that overall cheerful and polite vibe wrapped in an attractive young man was exactly how survivors described him. Fake concern masking his real intentions.
Again; if you're gonna watch it be prepared for disappointment.
The Ninth Day... Inglourious Basterds... Allied... and now this one.
Damn if there's an uniformed nazi in a movie you bet your ass August Diehl will be playing him.
It could have been such a good movie but ended up boring and forgettable. Brad Pitt plays Brad Pitt, period, no depth on that character. Weak script. Love story with no chemistry developing out of thin air.
Also the lesbian sister was such a weird addition??? Like, they're in the 1940s, no one would ever be so openly gay (less while working in the military) and with everyone surrounding them being all cool about it. They probably wanted points for being inclusive but didn't bother trying to make it feel realistic. It was so forced and out of place...
Reinhard Heydrich had a really unique face and it's okay if they don't cast an actor that resembles him because that would be quite difficult... but at least they could have bleached the hair of the guy playing him.
It would have made a more impactful movie if it was centered only in Heydrich, with more detail in how he rose to power and how he conducted the Wannsee Conference... because honestly the first part was what I found more interesting. Also I don't know why they always want to force some romantic plot just for the sake of it (I'm talking about the two Czech fighters).
Well, I found this film better than Anthropoid anyway.
Gosh I missed British humour so much, no American comedy makes me chuckle out loud.
I want to see one Frank from a parallel universe go to meet Kido again like "surprise motherfucker".
Juliana and her ability to get everyone around her fucking killed.
I cannot believe they got me rooting for Hitler to survive the incident.
This is the kind of film you enjoy as a kid and then rewatch it to find yourself really annoyed by the made up history. But anyway... good songs.
Matthias Schweighöfer steals the whole movie, his smooth performance as Klaus Barbie contrasts a lot with the rest of... not so interesting things going on. Without him I would have given this a much lower rate.
When you find yourself hoping for more scenes of the sadist Nazi and completely uninterested by the guy who's supposed to be the protagonist, you know the point of the film is kinda lost.
I hate Gabi so much, I don't even care if she's got a redemption arc later on, it ain't gonna change a thing.
At first I disliked her but now I wish they had yeeted her off the zeppelin when they had the opportunity.
