it's kind of a much uglier version of suicide squad xd
dont get me wrong, the thrill was definitely there but the plot was full of holes n smtimes made 0 sense, n even there was some cringy irritating moments ugh, and the gore scene XDDDDD they were pathetic sorry, also the acting set was below average but they did their best ig.
so yeah it is watchable but not that enjoyable.
Well, the kids were really good. That's it, though.
It's a very obvious movie, kind of cringeworthy because of all the rapping and the kid spewing out pseudointellectual non-crap, but I nevertheless enjoyed it. People need to loosen up and know how to enjoy a movie, I wouldn't trust reviews online because they are always going on about small things that the average viewer would never notice; afterall, I watch these movies for fun, and not to analyze them and tear them apart from the inside out.
Really good telling of Colour out of Space. The director makes good decisions regarding what to show and what not to as the sense of dread is built upon with dream-like visuals that almost contrast the affect that the strange cosmic phenomenon is causing.
Decent special effects and the cast is great, Nick Cage is himself as usual and steals the show a bit, but the supporting cast really make it work.
Wow, that was an intense film. As others mention ‘cosmic horror’!
We wonder what’s out there in space, if we are alone or not. But, after watching this, you will hope we are alone!
Started slow, but then it went off with a bang! My heart was racing.
Such an incredibly difficult story to pull off and put in to a movie. The visuals were phenomenal, at times beautiful and horrifying.
Nicolas Cage was awesome in my opinion, but I do love most of his movies anyway. He came across as terrifying!
Not everyone is going to like this, as it’s pretty out there. But, for me they certainly portrayed cosmic horror brilliantly.
For a Lovecraftian inspired movie it manages to capture quite successfully the cosmic horror feeling. Nicolas Cage casting was a spot on for this kind of movie.
That was some of the most unconvincing old people make up I've seen in a movie yet. It's now been 45 minutes and absolutely nothing has happened other than setting up unlikeable characters to be murdered.
I recommend watching the remake; the rape is more visceral and the revenge is more drawn-out and violent. And if you're watching a movie in the "rape & revenge" subgenre of horror, those are really the only two things the movie needs to do well.
Just watch the opening credits. It is the best part of the movie.
By far the most irritating intro song I've ever sat through in my life. Fucking hell it never ends either. It's still going now. Just give up already!
Zack Snyder seems to have the unique talent to make things that sound great on paper, no fun at all in execution.
A zombie movie without any logic, and not that great action. The worst thing though was the very shallow DOF with most of the shots. Makes it hard to watch.
If you wondered what could possibly go wrong with an Ocean's 11 film with zombies, watch this film It will show you how you can screw up this story.
What an utter waste of time!
There were a lot of interesting...choices...made in Army of the Dead, some just annoying, others head-scratching, and a few actually intriguing. First, the good. Dave Bautista has really blossomed as an action star and I genuinely enjoy him. The rest of the cast (barring Tig Notaro, who is always great) was meh, but passable. The action was solid when mowing down zombies, but some of the creature work (the zombie animals looked fine when not involved in the action, but didn't fare well when the action focused on them) was spotty. The rest of the film was an overlong, oddly shot, weirdly plotted haphazard mess. It felt like Snyder went through his notes on cool film ideas and randomly tossed them into a zombie flick. I didn't hate it, but left it feeling like there could have been so much more done with this idea.
Too long and slow for an action zombie movie.
Didn't enjoy the high aperture shots. Half of the people's faces were out of focus and it was bothering me.
I've really been glad to see this safe cracker again in this movie, but everything further was just worser and worser. I mean the guy gathered a perfect team, then because of his daughter emotions the whole teams mainly got nothing because everyone had to rescue her. I mean what is this..? There's nothing worser than a team mate who brings a person who thinks only within the range of emotion boundaries and spoils everything. I just can't stand such characters, it makes me wanna shot that character in a head that the story would go on as it should. And I see this more often on Netflix, one character which spoils everything with storm of emotions.. and I don't see any reason watching such movie any further because of such character. They make me wanna kill someone, waste of my time. Story is usually is about sequence of events which leads to something, in this case it's a stupid teen who destroyed the whole point of everything that's happening in the movie. I want to see a happy end how whole team takes money and goes to celebrate life, what we have instead? a psycho teen which destroyed everyone's dream. She should've been the one who got fed to the Queen instead of that cop, she totally deserved that. You've got such a nice actors, color editing, pretty much all shootings and stuff are quire good, I can't imagine it's better, but the whole scenario is just about nothing, everyone being a nanny to some teen who spoiled everything for everyone. And even more, after such nuclear explosion, everyone are already dead basically, in year or even faster. This movie script is absolute tragedy and spoiled my nice evening, I'm angry asf that I've spent 2 hours on this crap.
And a separate compliments to the director: maybe you should finish some video shooting school first? why half of frames are unfocused or left unfocused when a character leaves a scene? This is so amateur, even if you're using this as an effect it's highly disturbing to watch, you're basically made me stop watching film 5 times because of this effect.
Crap storyline, illogical tracking shots of clouds that don't fit in the style of the movie and a "twist" that you can see coming from a mile away. Further proof that M. Night Shyamalan should stick to telling his made up fairytales to his kids and stop making movies for the general public.
ok yes it was bad, the twist is ridiculous and the whole premise is awful, perhaps 4 is a bit too much
A complete dud, seriously. There was a whole lot of build up for very little pay off, you spend the first forty five minutes of the movie thinking that incontinence and dementia are Shyamalan's idea of horror, and then when it finally gets scary, you're robbed of it so quickly its just depressing. Basically never trust anything Shyamalan does, he completely lost it when he butchered Avatar: The Last Airbender, and everything past that proves he sucks. When it was scary it was almost worth it, but don't recommend.
Did anyone else really want the kids to die?
Not a bad start, but then it gets worse and worse documentary style it even more, Shyamalan cheats to get his turn
the plot twist is well-thought (the fact that they are not their grandparents) but what a terrible way of conducting to and from this
Sorry, but can I please have the time I wasted on this back? The only reason I kept watching was because I hoped the movie would somehow get better.
To everyone who is thinking about watching this: I would rather eat Glass than watch this movie again.
Spent far too long to develop characters and supposedly tense. The climax was dull and uninspired, no thrill, just a reveal and exposition of what should've been obvious. The kids are good, acted like real annoying kids, but everything else is dumb and doesn't match with the tone. Especially the ending.
Streamed via Hulu (FXM)
That's just awful! It's so predictible, 15 minutes in and I already know what's really happening. Felt so dull, the comedy was supposed to break the tension but there's no tension at all. I didn't really care about those two kids, or any characters because they're not convincing enough. The humor was irritating and the rapping parts were insufferable. I stayed because of Kathryn Hahn! The only funny moment is when the kid got poop shoved in his face. Overall I didn't enjoy it, it failed to blend horror and comedy. I think the final result would be better if they make it pure horror, but I appreciate the concept and filmmaking.
