Script shortcuts fiesta.
I would have noted this 4/10 if it's not for some parts with Ruth Wilson.
Excellent show with a great expected ending.
A nice story of 2 nemeses who happen to be soul mates.
Excellent entertainment, clever direction, references and humor, but fairly conventional emotions and storyline.
The energy of the film is very youthful and sometimes lacks a bit of restraint, especially in the action scenes which are sometimes a bit psychedelic and suddenly lose clarity.
Nevertheless it is clearly an audacious animated film well above average, we feel that there is passion behind it.
It's a solid 7,5/10 but not an 8 for me.
Very intelligent film where during the first 15 or 20 minutes our bearings are turned upside down.
But very quickly we notice that a normality sets in and that, as spectators, we in turn become conditioned.
It's hard to rate this film below 8/10, although the story itself didn't moved me too much.
But the point of view from which this romance is told and this cinematography with such careful framing and staging, deserve more.
A great Park Chan-wook that I will have to see again on second reading, when so few things are left to chance in this "Decision to Leave".
Script written with the ass.
This movie is a mix between "Idiocracy" and "Armageddon".
Useless sequel. Almost nothing new compared to the first movie.
Useless then.
I can't say i liked the movie but my eyes did.
I know who is Orson Welles and watched Citizen Kane a long time ago, I understood the story but a lot of names and references have past over my head.
As a lot of people here in the comments, i found this movie overwhelming and i don't know why.
... well yes... i do know why.
An entertaining action movie with no personnality nor atmosphere, and almost no real science-fiction features, that should have been intriguing rather than confusing.
The proposed concepts are not that complex to assimilate and understand, this is the lazy storytelling that makes the movie looking mindblowing, when it's really not... or you have never seen anything with time travel related content.
Nolan did a much much better job on Memento (which is imho closer of Tenet than Inception, even if completely different).
If you want to see a much more interresting movie (in every ways) about time "manipulation", with thriller and action vibes, just try "Triangle" (2009)
Opening credits has better production, poetry, story and emotions than season 2 and 3.
The eagle in it is more appealing and more interesting than every caracters stories.
The season 3 poster has more atmosphere than everything you can see through all this season episodes, since everything is insipid.
All hosts have pure human behavior now, so you won't have all those nuances from season one.
Relationships between characters are total cliche, no emotions considering that story telling is average af.
Episode one was promising, production and depiction of the future out of the park was neat; locations were really nice... but then everything became redundant and predictable.
Action scenes were really mediocre, inconsistent and not very credible... to say the least.
Story is quite simple but ok.
Do not watch this movie for the twists or complex scenario, but for the marvelous directing and pictures.
A dark and plausible representation of a future that seems so realistic and near.
Quite intense in its way.
Good surprise.
Nice character design, nice 2D / 3D touch, nice lights and colors, nice story.
Nice ideas, terrible exploitation.
Everything is unlikely and poorly established and narrated.
Nothing is credible for a second, most of the time because of the mediocre dialogues and of the low budget that no creative action can hide.
This show should have been 2 seasons long, keeping the first and mixing the second and the third without a lot of stuff like peoples starring at paintings, entering rooms silently, and declaim pretty bad written redundant dialogues and monologues.
I think this show did put some useless complexity for comlexity's sake.
Get rid of the Adam and Eva religion inspired bullsh** and focus on the third world plot, and you'll have a solid show... but not this time i may say unfortunately.
This 2nd season is not perfect, but offered some clever writing, with a smart continuity.
When you think and talk about those last episodes, you are able to discover that this story is a delightful mix of drama through the prism of madness, myths and religion reached and completed by science and other obscure theories such as life forms with superior intellect, soul mates, probabilities of things happening, and the mysteries surrounding the human brain and its restrained capacities.
It will be such a mess if Brit Marling was not allowed to finish it in a third season.
Best episode of the season so far.
First episode of the season that was really interresting :/
Nice pictures from time to time.
But storytelling and story itself were pretty mediocre...
Nice movie with an original story and a good dosage of everything needed to be entertained.
That's all for me, i gave enough chances to this shit.
I agree with the other comments, the first good episode so far.
The five first ones were kinda poor and full of inconsistencies and bad story-telling.
I hope that this will stay on course.
Quality production and very beautiful story.
Only con for me is the OST for the sung parts, a little bit too sentimental, and the clumsy use of a pop rock theme that makes this animation film for a supermarket teenagers anime, while this is at Ghibli's level.
When it's about the vampire's myth, this movie is the greatest i've never came to see.
Not a bad movie overall.
The photography / lights are really nice.
Good movie. Good surprise as "Stardust" was, with nice moments.
So, it's like a remake of the old ones...
Two words for this great episode:
Emotions and Epicness.
Oh God, why it had to be leaked...
