Not for the faint of heart, "A prayer before dawn" is a very powerful drama about drug abuse, boxing, and Thai prisons.
Extremely well made, it will keep you riveted to your seat from the beginning!
Could have been great, but it was too long. Too cinematographic actually.
The plot is not very original, but that's not too much of an issue, but the (incoherent) behavior of some of the characters is.
We're shown relatively soon that most of the team of missionaries are pretty good with guns, but when it's on, and they have to shoot Avery, suddenly nobody is able to land a good shot 50 feet away...
So much hype, but for a horror movie it didn't deliver. At all.
Not even a good jump scare.
Go watch it for the ambiance and a glimpse of 17th century life in the countryside, not for the chills (or just save your time and don't watch it)...
