A who done it documentary about a guy that made a documentary in 2005 and didn’t get anywhere with it. Is the convicted criminal Chester Weger that’s spent an eternity behind bars innocent after re-evaluating all the evidence again from the 60's? No one knows but Weger confessed and later recreated the murders at the murder site for loads of cameras and reporters and he then would go on to recant his confessions and deny it for years but because we are waiting for DNA results the documentary finished prior to a conclusion.
So, the outcome was all still the same. The editing and production are poorly done and more focus needs to be placed on the crime rather than the filmmaker as he inserted himself into the story and it seems like it’s more a stab in the back to his father who was the prosecutor in the case. His father isn’t there to defend himself. The documentary was released in 2021, Weger was paroled in 2020 at 80 years old, 60 years after he was convicted. If the film maker was trying to exonerate him to overturn what his father had done, he did not achieve his goal and doubt he will.
Essentially the audience is left with more confusion and questions than answers with everyone sitting about waiting for DNA results. Will there be a part 4? Who knows but although it didn’t bring a conclusion it did certainly make people aware of this case again. The 3rd episode exposes so much that should have been revealed earlier regarding Chester Weger’s background leading me to believe he was guilty……. But did he work alone?
