i feel like if this was a book it would really work, but it doesn't in this form. it was clearly aiming at lovecraft, but it falls amazingly flat.
very frustrating season. a lot of flashiness for not an ounce of the nuance of the first ones, abandoned plotlines (not even a word about the suitcase business, what?) at the expense of cool cinematography and interesting montages. other than those and zendaya's acting chops, this is a real shallow show compared to what I felt at the end of season 2.
Very conflicted. Sometimes Lexi speaks with my thoughts and it's scary. But she wouldn't do half of what is going on here, it's all SO much. And I get that that's the point, but I feel like the show is continuously trying to outdo itself. Besides, the episode is way too scattered, it really just needed to be JUST the play. The rest was not necessary, and could've been implied through the play. Sam Levinson needs someone with a stick to smack his fingers when he has these ideas. I'm very conflicted about the Holding out for a hero thing as well. Putting myself at a distance from this show, it's really all over the place.
should have seen it coming at supermassive black hole
im sorry but if dan stevens talked to me through the tv i would simply do as he says
and right on cue, my heart is shattered. the flanaverse does it again.
anybody catch the kate siegel/hamish linklater cameo?
we all knew what was going to happen, but it still hurt so much. props to kaitlyn dever for making us feel every ounce of pain betsy went through :broken_heart:
the more this show goes on, the more heartbroken and angry i feel.
phil tippett made me tear up. i have so much respect for him:heart:
malcolm deserves to be treated that way i stg
THE CHRISTINA RICCI CAMEO SENT ME
I've lost count of how many "Yikes" i said out loud during this episode. What a profoundly fucked up story.
yikes this was Percy Jackson meets Venom basically, with really bad CGI...
I really liked Oscar tho.
i hope it gets better!
literally screamed at the top of my lungs. the balls on this show:two_hearts:
Adam Scott disturbingly looks like Matt Bellamy
this is the gayest show I've ever seen and ITS AMAZING
Why is this show lowkey turning into a psychological thriller? Not that I'm complaining, to be clear. I'm loving this.
This is a little too relatable already, I'm loving it
the Twilight tribute. This show is always off the rails
starting this. I hope to be on a journey as absurd as everybody goes about. this is definitely in the David lynch realm already, but it's also so funny AND moving. The principal's speech was so sad.
this season is like "here's an amazing scene about making up with your errors as an addict, we'll have a very wholesome dialogue between Ali and your family and it will feel amazing in contrast with last week's episode" and then five minutes later "here's a scene in which a character pretends to have a brain disorder to break up with her bf, also another one cuts herself with a screwdriver while screaming like a baby because she can't get over a tall psychopath dude with daddy issues that gives her attention"
this is being a WILDLY inconsistent show
