I hope more people see it
What an amazing movie. The end was so pitiful and haunting for the main character. There need to be more movies like this and less of cartoony superhero movies. I can see why some people don't like this movie. I am definitely not one of them.
I watched because Hitch was featured in this documentary. He mentioned Vidal a lot when he gave public speeches. Before seeing the documentary I did a little research on Vidal and Buckley. I found Buckley's views on Vietnam war and Civil rights movement despicable. At the end of the docu I just felt sad for both men. Both ventured to make political careers for themselves, both failed. Both spent a considerable time in the libel lawsuit against one another. Both are now forgotten. Quite sad really.
Loved the movie. Don't understand the people complaining about the plot. There doesn't need to be a happy ending or a cliched plot all the time.
I loved the movie. It's gritty, serious and realistic. I am glad people got to watch movies like this more this year instead of the big budget cartoonish crap superhero movies because of the pandemic.
Very tragic and sad. Haven't read the novel so the movie was really disturbing, especially the end. The thing that irks me is that in the reviews and cast interviews, people say how no one is wrong and everybody is a victim of circumstances, but it isn't really the case. Lester, the police officer, takes 99 percent of the blame for what happens. He leaves his wife and kids for someone he met a few days ago and threatens and harasses a family despite being a police officer. He's quite a piece of shit.
Both seasons are great in their own way. Second season delves much more into the sexual profligacy and perversion of rich people, than the first. The first season shows the pettiness and selfish nature of the wealthy class, while they put on the facade of charitable individuals. One could say these characters are the caricatures of what poor people think what the rich really are. But I think there's a lot of truth in everything shown.
Very bleak. I'd like to believe not all men are like what the men in this movie portrays. But to be honest, as a 20 something guy, I find that a very significant number of men are more or less the same. I sympathize with the women and girls who are in a bad situation. I felt miserable and helpless watching this. There were a few scenes where I expected worse things to happen. Fortunately they didn't.
I liked the 2nd part even better. Some may say it lacks substance but it's a no bullshit serious action flick. It doesn't try to be anything more. I love it. The story gives a one man vs the world kinda feel and it's captivating that way.
Creepy and unusual. Some of the scenes will make your jaw drop. This isn't too scary, but the plot and performances make this very enjoyable. I don't think anyone would be bored by it. Every episode is amazing.
Really nice little action movie with great comedic elements. The Rick Hoffman scenes were really funny. the bad rating isn't justified.
Loved it. Delivers on the scares. The ending got a bit silly.
Great movie. Too over the top. But I think that adds to the hilariosity.
This was the best episode of the season
Such a great movie ruined by such a bad ending. Old Sandie killing Eloise was so out of character. She was wronged by those men and took revenge on them, but she tries to poison Eloise for what? Inadvertently leading the cops to her place? lol. It's so dumb. But unlike some, I liked the first part and the initial plot. There are those who'll think what a bad movie...it shows all men as sexual predators. But guys c'mon. Do we need a disclaimer that it's "not all men" every time something like this is shown in movies. Women don't feel safe at some times at some places. What I really liked about this movie was the atmosphere. Every scene was so beautifully shot and the blending between reality and fantasy. Those who expected a horror movie would be disappointed because it's not a scary movie. Like not at all. It can be classified as a thriller.
Loved the movie. Loved the actress. She looks like Natalie Dormer, but even more beautiful.
A far-fetched parody movie, but actually captures the mainstream media and our politicians' intellect pretty close. Half the world's population is dumber than baboons. So nothing is truly far-fetched anymore. I think the sole motive for the makers was to show how dumb people can get. So props to them. I did not find the movie too entertaining or funny. I like the message though.
It did scare me. The plot is very basic though. For me, I like that they kept the plot simple. The movie deals with death and isolation. 7/10
Overrated. Not a bad movie but doesn't deserve such a high praise. Amazing acting by Natalie Portman.
A good series but doesn't live up to the hype. Dragged on too long I think. Could have been a 7 ep long series if some of the clutter was removed. The ending was quite anti-climactic. The protagonist meeting the old man and he essentially saying "it was just a game bro, why you so mad" was a little too underwhelming. But I am glad they went with that instead of making up something to appear that it all had some deeper spiritual meaning or a big secretive conspiracy. Another small thing, but some of the characters were just too out of character. They kept getting surprised by what was happening even after coming back to the place having already witnessed the first game and the mass murder of 200 people. Having said all that, it was quite enjoyable watch.
Quite brutal. Not on the level of irreversible but there was one scene which was too much. The movie doesn't glamorise the porn industry, which is a good thing.
A combination of not scary and an ambiguous ending that doesn't seem satisfying whichever way you dissect it. Trailer looked promising, but it was a snooze in reality.
The writing dissappointed me more than the awful cgi. Still was a fun watch.
Not the best Fincher movie you'll see
I haven't read any of Poe's works, but from wikipedia, it looks like it is only loosely based on Poe's story and not a perfect retelling. I don't mind that btw. Though the plot is largely predictable by the conclusion of the third episode, the missing pieces are cleared in the very end. The jump scares interlaced throughout the series feel completely unnecessary for the plot to move forward. Overall, it's a decent watch.
I loved Virginie Efira more than the movie. She is so insanely beautiful.
Initial half was great. But like all supernatural horror movies, it got too over the top towards the end.
Wasn't as bad as I thought. This isn't salo or irreversible or serbian film level depravity. You could see this movie with your friends and have a laugh at the end because of the over the top depravity and violence.
Its stupid fun. Like most horror movies. Had a few scares. Kept me engaged.
So disappointing. Kinda laughable. Maybe that's what they were going for.
